I am pretty sure you'll lose most of your coolant doing this. Unless you have tiny hands, I believe you'll need to remove the fan to get enough room to remove the metal housing that covers the thermostat. If you don't drain the coolant, it will puke all over everything when you remove that cover.

I think they're fugly but then again you like the Mystic Gold Metallic, so...

And I agree, the little things are nicer about this interior than my 98.

Maybe after my ass stops bleeding from paying cash and Boulder county sales tax, and ensuing expenditures...I'll consider that. Check back in 3 years from now. If I've completely bled out, it yours.

    Sounds like a hard pass.

By the way, XL sized hands. The worst for working on cars.

Don't even get me started. You have the ultimate dream truck, that I don't have. And the ultimate topper, that I want, sitting on your trailer.

I bet I'm more offended

COS Area: Pikes Peak, Garden of The Gods, Red Rock Canyon Open Space, tons of breweries (Best: Phantom Canyon, Goat Patch, Bristol, Red Leg, Fossil, Cerberus, Storybook)
Head over to Buena Vista/Leadville area: lots of hiking (tons of trails easily accessible with stock wheels - Forest Rd 365 and look for Silvercreek and Cottonwood Creek trailheads, lots of 14er trails, Colorado Trail) and fishing (Arkansas River, Half Moon Creek (Mt massive and Mt elbert trailheads available in this area), Twin Lakes, Clear Creek Reservoir) and drinking (Deerhammer Distillery, Eddyline Brewery)
Shoot over Cottonwood Pass towards Taylor Reservoir: stop at top of pass and hike and site see, check out Taylor Reservoir and Taylor River for fishing, lots of established and nat'l forest camping options in the area
Head to Gunninson: check out town, check out High Alpine Brewing Co.
Check out Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Blue Mesa Reservoir - lots of camping, fishing, hiking in this area too
Head to Sand Dunes: nice scenic drive through the San Luis Valley to the Sand Dunes.

Of course there are different variations and spurs you can take off this general route depending on time. :D Happy exploring!

I love this map and agree. The only thing I would vary is to check out Crested Butte (45 minutes north of Gunnison and only about 20 north of where you will hit hwy 135 from the pass). Check out Stash for some pizza or Bones for some tacos. My favorite CO mtn town.

Good call on Crested Butte! If time allows, add it! If time doesnt, tough call between this area and Black Canyon. In Crested Butte area... also check out Gothic Valley (Judd Fall trail, Snodgrass Mountain trail) and Emerald Lake. Good camping off CR-811 (Camping off Cr-317 is restricted in the summer, not sure if we're past that threshold yet)

Heck, I would sub Lake City and Alpine loop over Black Canyon of the Gunnison if they are willing to go that far West.
