Got it. Exactly. Yours move. Mine don’t.

I think we both came off a little too sure and matter-of-fact. The fact of the matter is our situations are not a guaranteed behavior of these shocks.

RESET - The accurate answer is that “some” move.

Correct. I never claimed all do. I was just proclaiming that even when installed and torqued properly they can still rotate, and to always visually check your hoses before rides just in case.

I build jet engines for a living. No stranger to reading specs and using a torque wrench lol.

No hard feelings. Was just sharing my experience.

    It's probably in here somewhere.

I was contemplating rear 2.0s, are the lower shock mounts a lot of trouble to install?

The Fox 2.0 valving does change by part number, and some of them are EXTREMELY aggressive.

There is nothing preventing the 2.0's from rotating, but it also hasn't been a problem.
Most of the damage I have seen has been cause during installation (not noticing the hose hitting the mount) or initial hose orientation (hitting the tire on articulation).

Can be if you put the top in first. I’ve found it easiest to
    - jack the rear up
    - remove rear parking brake hangers from frame and leafsprings
    - install lower mount with shock top facing away from lower mount. Don’t tighten bolt yet
    - rotate shock to vertical position while compressing it slightly
    - guide top mount in while releasing the shock

It’s more difficult you put the top mount in first because of the mounting angle on the lower mount.

    That sounds easy.

How about the mount itself, I though the bushing had to be changed?

My bad. I gave a simple answer because I thought that's what you were talking about. It does. It can be stubborn. I actually filed down the inside of it to make it thinner and it ripped pretty easy. Others have some good techniques too. I'm sure they'll chime in.

I combined the techniques of these two videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=PYueBjLnBms @drewhaus posted this here somewhere

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6kNV7cdwtE

Mine also came with the bigger bushing installed so to swap them out for the smaller ones that came provided, I used different sized deep sockets and a c-clamp (like @Rd62 recommended) plus some lube and it was actually surprisingly easy.

The problem is that even the small bushing will most likely be too big for your lower shock mount, at least least it was in my case. So out came the angle grinder to carefully shave down both sides to make them fit.

Sorry. Mine came from Accutune with the correct bushings installed. I wasn’t aware that the bushings need to be swapped out.

200 psi rides so much better than 175 psi. At 175 it felt like the front was just slightly under damped - primarily the rebound felt a little quick. After adding 25 psi, it seems like the suspension stays in the stroke much better, it soaks up the square edge hits like butter, and the ride is the best it’s been in three years.
On top of the extra air, I went to a c-rated tire and ditched the e-rated rubber.
Thanks for the advice and killer customer service @*TRD* @AccuTune Offroad

    Check My Sig.
I’m going to go ahead and say that your increased ride comfort is more related to changing tire load than changing nitrogen PSI unless there’s a science behind this that I don’t understand.

Tire change occurred a few days before PSI change. No doubt that the tire change helped - night and day difference between E and C. However, the PSI change is by far much more noticeable.

Hey Fox family. I just got my Fox 2.0 kit in from @HeadStrong Off-Road and hoping to install it myself tomorrow morning. I don’t have to compress the springs prior to installing the front right? I should be able to install them right out of the box correct? This is for a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road.

Make sure the allen head for the lock ring is facing out so you can get to it once on the truck.

If you have the 2.0 fronts, then yes, just bolt them up. You can't adjust ride height with them on the truck, so the lock-ring allen @m603holden mentioned is not applicable to you. FWI, they do not come adjusted to compensate for the "taco lean" and you may find they don't provide quite as much lift as stated by Fox straight out of the box. I'm sharing this so that you can make adjustments (for which you will need a spring compressor) prior to installing to avoid having to take them off/on again. Hope this helps.
