Just started poking around the fuse box to see what else was powered and bother washers and wipers had voltage along with a few other things.

Toyota does things differently. Lots of things are Powered Up but they eliminate grounds to control the circuit. Still haven't got it straight in my head either. Glad there's Others that have far more knowledge then me.

Great write up. I’m planning to do a similar install. Might be a stupid question but is my OR pre-wired for the heated seats already like the limited would be? I see there are multiple wiring har harnesses under the seat. Any chances to tap into these?

I presume it is not possible or it would have been done already on this forum by people much smarter than me!

My Limited has the heated seats...highly recommended for the wife! Difficult enough to get her to ride in my truck! She prefers her Prius...!

Here's a long shot - anyone know where I could find a harness extension for the besond switches (or the part name so I could make it if necessary)? I'm waiting to hear a response back from them on Amazon.

I'm also looking at the S/HTR 20amp fuse and thinking this should work for the heated seat kit. Even if powered all the time the kit has a relay that will be run to switched power. Did you end up using S/HTR? Would make this much easier than going through the firewall.

You can cut the wires and solder addition wire in.

The seats I have need the switch light on for the elements to get power. I don't remember exactly where I wired mine but the switch is always lit and the seats work all the time but when the truck turns off the seats go off too. I originally had it tied in to the tail lights soninhad to turn the lights on to turn the heated seats on.

You could tap the power wire and ilum. wire of a nearby switch on the dash for the button. Not sure how yours are wired, mine need a switch 12v, ilum wire, ground and constant 12v. I plan to either use a nearby switch or use the ilum wire and switched remote wire on my HU for the console button. I will likely use the S/HTR 20A for the constant supply or run another wire with a inline fuse on it.

Dude. This is what I came here to read. I also did tail lights but found I had to have my lights on to heat the seats. Garbage!!! I think I'm going to tap into my usb source and run it like you. Oof. Oh well.

Anyone have a fresh link for the style of seat warmers from the original post? I’ve looked but couldn’t find any. Preferably with the style button in the first post! Looks like OEM in my opinion and would match my anytime front camera button as well.
