Good info thanks. Does the truck feel like it has more torque? Or is it just smoother shifting?

Smart cars won't downshift until you press the gas pedal WOT until it clicks. Really strange feature. Never heard of anything else like it.

It's a Smart car so......ya. Hated that thing. It was a company car. Trans was terrible. It was an automatic, but imagine riding with someone who isn't good at driving stick all the time.

0/10 would not recommend. I'd rather have a Prius if I wanted a small fuel efficient vehicle.

I need some advice on passing the state inspection. I just moved here from Oklahoma so I am new to having to have my vehicle inspected. The first place I took my truck to said that the frame was twisted and the rear axle was bent. I took it to the Toyota dealership and they said everything was fine and even did an alignment check to confirm everything was okay. The second place I took it to said that the wheels stuck out past the fenders even though the first place said they didn't and passed them. Is there a good/honest place I can go to so I can pass inspection? I am in the Silver Spring area. Thanks!

(I can post the pictures of the pass/fail paperwork showing that my tires passed but my alignment failed at the first place along with the paperwork from the dealer showing that my alignment is fine in a later post)

I've put 140k on my wife's Prius (because she's a SAHM and I commute 57 miles one way...until next month wahooooo). Only thing I've done to it is change tires and oil, and it has been a lifesaver with this hellacious commute the last three years.

The hood mounted gauge is a dead giveaway you don't want to be messing with this guy at a red light.

Welcome to the forum and the Kool Kidz thread Collin! :hattip:

I thought dealerships did vehicle inspections? No? I'm pretty sure we have guys in the Silver Spring area that can answer your question about a place if not.

Great looking truck for being 10 years old!!!! :fistbump:

No, I wasn't able to make that event. I don't believe we've met, yet. But I am sure we will.

Oh, so you mean unless you touch the floor with the pedal (typically how I drive anyway) it still won't shift? Ok, if that's the case I could see it being an issue, for some people. :D

I took mine to Koons Toyota in Westminster. Bit of a drive but honest dealership. What Toyota dealer did you go to?
By the way welcome and it is Silver Spring there are no springs there. LOL

I had an experience with state inspection last week. I had just bought this garage kept pappy truck and it was clean! I went over every square inch of this thing and knew it inside and out.

So I had farm tags on it cause it's cheap but they have a 25 mile radius limit from the farm. I wanted to go camping at Assateauge, so took it in for inspection. I park and the mechanic comes out looking like Boss Hogg from Dukes of Hazzard giving me and my truck stink eye. I get a bad feeling but thought "Hey, they're just looking at it right?" WRONG...

So they come back out and cheerfully declare that "Truck has failed for 2 cracks in the windshield over 1 inch and a bunch of chips" WHAT!?!? So I go out to look at the truck and sure nuff' 2 big chips right in the middle of the windshield and small chips all over the front of the truck. Get into a shouting match with the mechanics after they told me I was crazy and to GTFO when I said windshield was not like that when I dropped it off. So I left.

Get home and take a look around the truck. These guys were devious in the way they damaged things here and there, things that aren't apparent at first glance. They had the truck 2 hours and took their time with it.

First thing I noticed was *Slice in pass door upholstery*

*Rubber bumper in glovebox has been sliced off so it does not sit flush + looks like hinge bent*

*Giant hole bashed in the gbox*

    *Drivers side seat piping sliced*

    *Popped clips off door trim*

*Scuffed up all the plastic trim*

    Moving outside
    *Chipped/Cracked windshield*
*Cracked turn signals and Side markers*
    *Scratched up bumpers*
    *Ballpeen hammer to the muffler*
*Beat the inside of the tailgate with a rubber hammer resulting in dents facing out, looks like egg is popping out of the tailgate*

Read reviews before choosing a shop, I made that mistake and don't want this to happen to anybody else.
