So I had my dealership in Denver hear call me when the 2020 allotment sheets come out and builds that are expected to be delivered in the next months. I inquired about the Army Green TRD PRO. Already Sold with someone in front of me for the next one. INSANE! I decide to pass and I'm more than happy for now with my 2016 that's almost paid for. Toyota raised the prices and still flying out the door! This was my am I crazy check, and I said, yep, people are insane!

With all the problems I'm seeing with TSS and all the other safety nannies I'm perfectly happy with my 2016

Why would you sell a 4-year-old Toyota? Especially if you are more than happy with your 2016?

For fun, here is the spec sheet on the one already sold. Interesting when I asked about the MSRP, and she did not know yet. So wonder if this is going to be decided when they are delivered based on demand. Pretty sneaky if you ask me.

For me it was power seats and mostly a color change. It would have been an expensive nice to have. The army green has already lost my interest as well. Rather do some unique custom retro Stadium Mickey Thompson truck colors wrap or decals to my current truck.

Exactly - you take most of your depreciation hit on a Tacoma in the first 3 years after which it holds its value pretty steady for several years. Then you're practically MAKING money on it, right? :)

No power passenger seat huh? Assumed it would be both fronts.

How often do you change your seat position that you would see a benefit from them? Just curious.

Never for me, but can think of 2 good reasons for power:

    1. There is currently no height adjustment. Can raise height or change angle with spacers/washers but if not done right could compromise safety. No safe way I've heard of to go lower.

    2. Power allows for fine tuning. Sometimes want to be between "notches" with the current manual adjustment.

Personally would like to have it but don't need it. Clazzio covers raising the position 1/2" did it for me but get how power could be a game changer for some. And if it is correct that power is only for driver that is disappointing.

I was going to ask the same thing. He’s probably referring to the TSB that seals some of the earlier TSS systems. This is how non-issues always get overblown on the internet. Some people love drama...

I feel better now. I was starting to think I got a raw deal on my truck, becasue I don't have any issues. Yea, Ok, I had a couple recalls/TSBs, but they were taken care of and I never had to leave my truck at the dealer.

I fervently believe the vast majority of people would be perfectly happy with their tacos if this site didn’t exist to convince them otherwise... :anonymous:

Well, if you think about it, look at how many trucks get sold every month, look at the number of frequent complainers here, I would say the vast majority is happy. If these trucks were so bad from the beginning, (late 2015 to 2016/2017), by now the sales would be dropping due to word of mouth. I work at a boat shop and everytime one of my customers comes in with a boat and they are driving a 3rd gen Tacoma (which happens a good bit), I talk to them about it. All of them so far had no complaints, therefore, I did not mention this forum to them.
