I have distanced myself from the changes. Not all bad. There were a lot of the scouts sisters that would have killed for the chance to do the stuff we did, but the girl scouts were not going to change.

Every kid deserves the to have the adventures we did, they grow up with great stories to tell.

Shot my first boar on the rock in Oahu back in the mid 70's when I was stationed there for 6 months. Sugar cane grows some big pigs although a lot of people hunt them now. Friend from LA sister married a local and they were the caretakers of a gravel pit and sugar plantation. Sat on the edge of the jungle and field and caught them coming out at sunset. He would use a .22 to shoot them and piss them off and they would charge. They gave me a H&R single shot 20 ga. and a couple of slugs. Be surprised how fast you can load a single shot shotgun when you got to.

Didn't plan on being up this late getting up at 4:30 to go shooting in Wi. tomorrow. But had some thin pork chops that needed cooking. So decided to smoke them. Wrapped in bacon. Because all great recipes start with first you cook some bacon..

Did a quarter ham also, started by braising it in honey, brown sugar and butter. Then unwrapped it and started the pineapple, brown sugar, and spices glaze. And put some on the chops too.

Getting later than I like for the time have to get up but that is smoking. I know what is for breakfast anyhow. When I started the charcoal had some fast food in the back yard (septic drain field). 12 yards with the bow from the deck.

Brings back pleasant memories. I enjoyed hunting White Tail Deer with a bow back on the Mainland. I now live on the Big Island, see pigs strolling on lawns, down town streets (like deer do), but don't have the desire to stick a pig. I do plan to Axis Deer hunt one day on the other Islands...
