were you pushing them hard? any info to share?

i wonder if the flow form process, which i believe changed after you bought yours, has any significance here.

I was literally going to work, under the speed limit on a dirt road. I don’t know if that’s considered “pushing them hard” or not. My truck has never been wheeled. It’s not a great road, but it’s also not Baghdad. I figured they could hold up to dirt roads.

Will do, I travel down Parvin and Legacy where it’s all dirt about once a week to cut down my drive time if I’m late. I hate how dirty it gets my truck so I try not to do it too often.

I’ve called and spoke with someone who said they would take a look at my pictures via email. I’ll see what they said and what action they take. I’m hoping for the best.

Apparently Dustin tried to get Konig to cover the wheel and they declined stating it looks like "impact damage or overloading". This could have been much worse had it been on a normal street doing regular speeds. I don't want to sound like I am bashing FN. Dustin's hands are tied, he offered me a new set at his cost, but I am not sure I want to go that route. At this time I don't know how I feel about the situation, but I do know shit happens and it isn't always the manufacturer's fault and the customer isn't always right. But what I do know is I haven't beat on the truck or wheeled it. It's never even been in 4WD (I know I know, something everyone says when things break).

    Take it how you will.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmnnn!! You should've gotten the bronze ones.

All in seriousness, glad that no one got hurt when this happened. It sucks because alot of us have these wheels and have had no issues. But needless to say there will be some that will have these type of unfortunate events with cast wheels. Time to upgrade to forged wheels?

I’m typically the guy to do that, however, I just started building a new house, $3k wheels isn’t in my near future. Looking into a different set of wheels.

I'm confused. I thought the 17" Konig Six Shooters have been flow formed for years now? Were they not in 2015? This makes me think twice about buying any wheels that are cast.

back then, they were not. I got in touch with Konig, and they are making this right! So, that is great news. I probably should have held out another day before making a post, but figured social media was the best way to get their attention. I will be receiving a new set sometime in the near future.

@Gingerbeard Man Glad to hear that man. I was just at Dustin's warehouse last week and took a photo of the new 17" flow formed Konig six shooters. Beauties. I am debating between these or the 17" FX Pros, but Dustin told me the 17" FX Pros are cast and not flow formed. After your situation, I'm not sure I want anything less than flow formed.

I still love the look/design, which is why I chose them so early on. It seems I am the first case of an issue with the Six Shooter, flow formed has been used for a while and is a lot better method than this original design. I would go with the FF set of the other for sure!

quite a read and I'm so happy you are getting proper support here. for what it's worth i appreciate your level headed approach. solid.

this is mine, they have a flow formed branding on them.. i can't take any better pics since she's in the shop this week out at Tandem getting a spa treatment.

    IMG_20190501_072354.jpg

i suppose i can have more confidence now, since it seems to be answered that flow forming is indeed significant for durability. anyone have anything else to add?

Jared good luck and appreciate you.

I really don't think I would stress the wheels if I were you. FF is much better than the method the old style wheels were manufactured, but even then, I seem to be the only one. I can't imagine it having to do with me being the first set. Can't believe youre right around the corner from me and we haven't crossed eachother, I had a MGM g8 a while back and now a red ATSV and the truck. We are near Savannah, off 380.

I've learned to be somewhat patience seeing as I deal with warranty in my profession. I did blow Konig up on FB a little though...

I wish Tandem had better hours for me, I don't think I can get out there on a week day.

I have beaten the ever living shit out of my six shooters for over 3 years and 35k miles now.

Zero complaints. I love these wheels.

That I’m not sure besides the pic I have seen where they say Flow Formed on the rim of the wheel.

Had mine never cracked and completely broke, I would have felt the same. Mine are just a tad older and a little more miles on a daily driven vehicle.

@T4RFTMFW messaged me about what happened.

I’m glad to see it was a case of cast vs. flow formed because i was extremely worried that i’d have to try to sell these and get something else.

My only regret is not going bronze.
