Last night I was changing the battery cables on my 1999 Tacoma Base 2.4L, manual transmission. The nut that holds the positive battery cable disappeared on me. I can't find a reference with the size. Anyone happen to know?

I don't know what happened, but I meant the nut that holds the cable to the starter

The nut that tightens the battery terminal clamp is a 10mm

    Edit...might be an 8mm actually

Well to add evidence against me, I meant the nut that holds the cable to the starter

I’m going to take a wild guess and say it’s M8x1.25

Most bolts and nuts on vehicles are going to be M6 or M8. It’ll be your most common fastener size.

That nut usually comes with the starter if you purchased an aftermarket one. The OEM nut is 14MM while the aftermarket starter usually comes as 13MM.

In regards to thread pitch it should be the same thread pitch as the windshield wiper arm as it is the same part number.
    9009905129

As @BartMaster1234 stated it should be an M8x1.25. I am 99% positive as this is the standard size/pitch. The only other option would be an M8X1.0 which is so rare that I wouldn't even bother trying it.

Only use a few body panel clips and don't put the screws in the corners back in...that could do it

It didn't fall off, I took it off a few months ago and left it in my garage... I legitimately lost it somehow:facepalm:
