Truth, But you can still get in trouble for using them.

Absolutely. If you’re trying to use warning lighting to your advantage to defy traffic laws much like an emergency response vehicle, that is when it becomes a misdemeanor.

I do have a question for you if you're knowledgeable in terms of mounting them though.

Like a traffic advisor? I’d just buy a used Code 3 ArrowStik controller.

Correct, Traffic Advisor, But i would like something like all in one.

Something like the Speedtech controller minus the fact that they are bad lol

One more question (I think lol)

Would it work for small light bars or is too much power needed? *Reverse lights*

*I lied* Would it work for Dual Color lights, *Amber/White* for scene lights.

*I really lied* I was looking at Feniex, My uncle is gonna see if he can get me a Whelen Traffic Advisor, Would it work for both?

You can always refer to the documentation for the system to see specific amperage ratings of each output.

These light and siren systems come from a time where high amperage Halogen lighting was the norm. I have a Code 3 XL lightbar from 1984 that draws 26 Amps from the factory.

I tried it on my truck for shits and giggles. I didn’t take it out of the garage of course.

I got it straight from a retired ambulance in the Las Vegas Pull-a-Part.

    That's nuts

I found it hilarious when my uncle asked me if I wanted Red/Blue or Ambers

He works for CDot and is pretty high up
I told him that I didn't feel like going to jail for impersonating an officer xD

Would you need a dual alternator for a setup like that?

Truly curious because I don't know how much it would normally drain the battery in terms of the charge.

    Dual Alternator?

This isn’t a fire truck running lots of equipment. That style of lightbar went obsolete in the early 1990’s. Everything is LED nowadays which draws considerably less than 26 Amps.

I mean just look at it, it’s so primitive. It has a worm gear motor driving a belt rotating four incandescent landscaping lights.

    It's awesome
I've just dealt with dual alternators in high power stereos in the past.
I have no idea how many amps they were drawing though lol

This is a modern example of an all LED lightbar (Code 3 1000 series) used on most emergency vehicles, or similar variation thereof from Whelen or Federal Signal.

They only draw a few amps thanks to how efficient LED’s are over Incandescent or Halogens.
