Dont bother taking out the charcoal filter. 1 it will not net you any performance gains, and 2. You live in CA, and if you have a SMOG guy that actually checks everything they should... you will fail smog if its not there.

If you want to shift the torque curve down a few hundred rpms you can get an XTP intake manifold spacer

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/xtp-intake-manifold-spacer-4-0l.297774/

There are no peak gains but gains in the mid range where you drive most of the time, thats going to be your cheapest performance adder.

Pedal commander is a joke, all it does is simply simulate you pushing down on your gas pedal more than you are.

you can either spend thousands on bolt ons to give your n/a truck a little more kick and a tune or spend thousands on a s/c. personally ide just get the s/c

Actually the cheapest performance adder is going to be running premium fuel.

It's been said, reinforced, shot down, and I'm here to say it again. Regear. It'll give you the throttle response you want and has the added benefit of reducing stress on the rest of your drivetrain.

There are several shops that will send you a complete center section for the rear and clamshell for the front so it's a bolt-on, single-day upgrade in your own driveway with basic tools. You ship your stuff back to them and get your core deposit back when you're done.

probably gould get new gears for 2500 or less, unless you want to add a front locker.

What’s gearing like that cost now and days? What type of gearing do you recommend for 4x4 trails and towing?

Just finished reading up the convos on the link you sent me and it looks like a very popular mod. Definitely going to look into getting one. Much appreciate the link!

You can also stick with stock size tires (265/65/17). The larger your tires get, the less torquey your truck will feel.

@Roostfactor ’s ypipe added some extra down low torque for my truck. You can notice it when going up hills and stuff. And it makes the truck sound amazing.

I kinda figured that when moved up to the 285/75/16 that it had a lag when taking off
