How's the sidewalls on the Defender? The stock tires on my wife's truck are wearing down pretty quick. Around here there are plenty of fist size rocks that like to eat sidewalls. I like the Coopers on the Jeep and Tacoma but not sure she needs anything that aggressive.

Not sure if the sidewalls would work for your application.

My Jeep came stock with the non-kevlar Wranglers. They lasted ok for a stock tire but the carcasses were not ideal. I had a wheel weight puncture a tire at the stoplight down the street. (It's at an intersection of a freeway off-ramp and one of the main roads. It always has someting in it that's fallen off vehicles, but mostly wheel weights). It went through the center of the tread.

Stitch came with GY AT Adventures 265/70/R16. I like them so far, but I never get more than 30K out of OEM tires it seems. I ran GY MT Wranglers on my 2nd Gen. Loved them on the trail, but had to run them at 50 psi to keep from sucking my commute mpg down; which made for a rough hwy ride and poor road manners at the wheel. I'll be looking for something with trail capability, rock resistant sidewalls, yet decent hwy manners...does that critter even exist?

I like the Coopers but they don't seem to have a big following. I forget what I paid but they scared the hell out of $200 ea. ($180-$200?). The Tacoma is real temperamental with tire pressures and have a relatively low recommended psi. I found they ran great at those recommendations on the road/freeway. Any higher and they were pretty squirrelly, lower noisey and a little mushy. Recommended and having the camper shell rode really good.

I like Cooper tires, solid performing tire at a fair price. Put their new Evolution HTs on both the Highlander and Ram this past May. Cooper will be on the list when a new set of Summer shoes are needed. I do like the GY Kevlar sidewalls though. We'll see...hopefully get at least 3 or 4 Summers out of these OEM GY AT Adventures.
