Oil Gauge not working...Oil level fine

    Yeah I know, that's why I first mentioned old cars vs new cars. I hear for old cars, I'm talking like 80s & older, that once the oil light came on, damage was done. The oil pressure lights didn't work that well. Not immediate catastrophic failure but scoring of bearings & journals was already done.

    I don't know the truth in this, just what I was told by my mentors.

    Yeah hence why if I ever saw that light go on or even flicker I would shut the truck off immediately, just coast off the road if I had to.

    I get nervous even seeing that light come on for a second when starting up the truck...especially after an oil change when it stays on for an extra second while the oil filter fills up (presumably).
