One of the various charity events they do out here is letting kids operate the HEAVY machinery and scoop dirt and such (sitting in lap of a professional of course). Anything like that in your area?

Not that I'm aware of. We have several friends in the grading business and when we can we take them to watch them work and every now and then they get to ride along. They also love helping me do anything with our tractor and loader, they are both getting almost to big for me to take both at one time though.

Made some pieces for a guys New Holland loader. Little thicker and added a brace. He mangled the other side. Had the arms burnt out with a laser.

I almost went down that rabbit hole. Just couldn't justify the cost of training as a civilian and then a couple years of making less $ than i am now.

    Very cool pic!

Welded a fancy jig to the table and heated some 5/8” hot rolled rod for some tractor parts.

I love being a machinist and making things. Just got done with this miniature arbor press. Last two photos are beside the table top press and the floor model with a 12 ounce can.

On-site contract Analyzer Project Specialist for a "big oil" company in Houston. I basically design systems that analyze different processes. Some of the analysis is used for EPA reg's, some are used for tighter process control. Not necessarily the most fun, but it pays well and is never boring.
