BLACK BADGES 3rd gen. Are we still looking?

I know there a bunch of thread on this but I wanna start instead of walking into a conversation 8 months old.

So here’s what I know.

For Black Badges on 3rd gen
we can...

- Buy 2nd black badges. (Too small)

- Plastic dip

- Use various paint methods

- Overlays


Is there a reason why they made 2nd gen genuine black badges and not 3rd gen? I wish eyecatcher made them because I did my tailgate and their product is bad ass. I want black matte badges but I can only find the above options on eBay, Amazon, google of course etc.

Any new updates ?

PS Are there color options for the trd sport sticker on bed side anywhere? I’d like black as well

I believe the second gen had black badges because of the TRD Pro in 2015. In 2016 the Pro lost the door "Tacoma" badges, in favor of the "TRD Pro" badge, higher up on the door. Hence, there are no black "Tacoma" badges for the third gen.

I did ad the 2016 TRD Pro black "4x4" badge to the tailgate of my truck and removed the chrome "V6".

Yeah, the 2nd gen badges are a different size and a different font... just different all around. The picture I posted is one of the 3rd gen black badges I bought along with one of the stock chrome badges I took off my truck.

Yeap, they are plastic, but good quality. I think it is the same set, just a different seller.

 

Those are 2nd gen emblems.

Maybe they just have the wrong pic on Ebay. The pics in the link show the 2nd gen logo.

 

The reason there are 2nd gen black badges is because the first TRD pro had black TACOMA door badges in 2015, the 2017 TRD pro was a different badge located under the mirror.

 

The black X-Runner had color matched door emblems in 2005 even before the pro was a thing.

We all have 2nd gen love since our bed mats have 2nd gen font

 

TRD Pro on third gen did not come out until 2017. I do prefer the black over the chrome.

 

Something is sketchy bro. I see the same item for different prices like $22, $44, $53 , with the v6 , without v6 , with or without 4x4 ( I’d sport that just to get passed the snow check point) but I think there all the same dude using different names. And some reviews say he’s shady. My concern is all use the same the exact photo/ sales pic and he seems to be the only one who has this item. And he uses a pic of a model working on a car.... I dunno. And they all say 1 item left
