Good idea. Mine has developed a slight stress fracture in the right rear corner. First noticed it after Slick Rock, then it grew slightly on this trip. I do have some @Bentrodder bed stiffeners, so that helps.

Time for something more robust than fiberglass? Perhaps a Drifter is in your future?

It was discussed over the campfire this trip, as Rob has one on order, and is nearly ready for delivery.

Sure. Additionally, you can show me how you keep the beer cold in your drifter.

I think weight wise, it's pretty close, but the point that was being made was structural stability. Cost is the real factor for me. My glass shell was only a couple grand, with sliding windows, felt lined, lights, and a pop down front window for cleaning.

Yeah I got my shell on CL for $300! High top, felt lined and one side had a door. Couldn’t pass that up! Drifter are freakin sweet set ups. But gah damn they are expensive.

Weight is the main reason I don't want camper shell or hell even RTT rack. Although, RTT with rack do look sexy AF and come in handy. I can't justify spending that kinda cash on Drifter or something similar platform either...bit out of my reach too as I have heard from some members here they are forking out 12K or so . Plus, most of the time I camp by myself. I don't mind sleeping on the ground like a peasant (or Pheasant like @Fernando calls it :D) or even in the cab lol... I am thinking about building simple sleeping platform in the bed for sleeping since I already have a softooper.

Time for a fridge. I am going to get one as well. Rob @Twizted just bought one too. He sent me a link too, but can't find it right now. I think @rob1208 has same one, but not sure.
