I stained and sealed the floor in the 30x40 Garage-Mahal. I used Delta-Dye which is water based, and a Urethane sealer (HD6525-MMA) from Legacy Industrial. Like most jobs the worst part was the prep, with a buffer (floor polisher) and diamond wheel rented from Home Depot, then pressure washed twice. The dye went on with a one gallon garden sprayer, and the sealer with an 18" roller. The picture was taken when I finished the 3rd coat of sealer which is why there are roller marks in the foreground. I'm going to do the walkway, connected patio and attached garage floor as well with the same product. Really pleased with the results.

I plagiarized a couple of the local petroglyph designs into the dye.

Semi off topic but here goes. It's breezy here as usual and I kept hearing what sounded like a loose downspout banging around. I am half deaf so I really couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. Whenever I went to the general area in the house it would stop. WTF? I started thinking rodents in the wall and praying that it wasn't and just stood still in the area. Sure enough I hear a noise in the woodstove. I look down and there's a friggin bird in the woodstove. I don't have a cat so that's not an option. The shotgun would make a bit of a mess. I just covered the stove with a dark towel to block the light. Hopefully the little pecker calms down and I can reach in and grab him. Update to follow. FML...

Actually looked like a wee finch through the door. Every time I got close enough he would run to the back of the stove, definitely a small bird though. I'll be on the roof tomorrow checking the wire mesh under the cap. It's SS and from the ground looks to be intact all around so I don't know how Houdini got in...

Since I was working alone without a net the best laid plans went to shit. I reached in to grab the "lil pecka" (NJ accent) and out it came full of piss and vinegar immediately heading to the ceiling. Immediate thoughts, FUCK ME. It was a Finch, femalie if that makes a difference. I had every door closed, all the blinds drawn and the front door open hopefully offering up the obvious exit to no avail. It perches on the highest points with no intention of following the light...UGH. I head to the shed and grab the leaf rake which has worked in the past for hummingbird roundup and it paid off again. I ended up basically herding it out the door with the leaf rake. Checking the mesh on the chimney tomorrow for sure.

First time pouring self leveling concrete, pretty happy with it but my first bucket was a little bit thick.

It turned out pretty good, still has to cure overnight but the about 1/16” is the most variance I can find.

Went to the Dollar Tree yesterday and picked up six stackable baskets after I saw this on Pinterest. I needed to clean up all my DE shaving soaps, creams, croaps, and blades. Maybe not as glamorous as some of the projects here, but all the same.

Actually not a kit, I got the ring off Amazon and the retaining wall blocks at Lowe's. The rings that came with the kits I could find were pretty thin, the one I got was the thickest 1 piece I could find at a reasonable price.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, other than the cap stones were slightly smaller than the base ones, hence the little one I had to cut in.

Getting it mocked up to set tonight, gonna do the sewer cut tomorrow because every cut has to count, I have no extra pieces and it’s a discontinued tile.
I’ll have a 1” gap along the back wall but I have some 3/8” pieces from ripping the front tiles that I can use to fill the higher visibility areas.
