Like others have said, it’s metal behind it, but it’s quite a ways back. So far back, you could get a slim line front metal bumper with a winch to fit in there, many have light bar cut outs, if that’s your thing.

Throw that thing you bought in a pile and in a year take all those parts and sell them in the 3rd Gen Marketplace.

I am not going to bother to find the thread where someone recommended this POS. Mostly out of embarrassment, but also as a reminder there be jokers about.

You’ll buy a few silly things. I’ve got a pile that I’m embarrassed to sell on here, probably just give them away as secret Santa gifts.

You probably can make that functional. It'll take some work though. Slide up under the bumper and pull the skid off. There's a lot to work with there.

I just used one of the license plate holes for mounting my winch and fed the winch cables through the other one. :bananadance:

You are truly mistaken if you think this thing is solid. You can tell by the weak mounting brackets. Not sure what your intentions are OP, but any front mounted bull bars are not made for any front end protection, more like damage multiplier. The only decent light bar similar to that little tykes bar in the original post are the ones made by N-Fab. Not sure what did you expect to get out of spending for a bar that's less than $40 to mount on an expensive Tacoma. Get the N-Fabs bar and do it right. I know, I know, go back to my 2nd gen forum..I see myself out.

Yeah I noticed how thin the mount brackets look AFTER I posted (then edited only the first line)

Dude - all I wanted originally is a better place to hang my plate. If you really want to read between lines: I was pissed the dealer or whomever drilled the nasty holes in the bumper. I am over that now.

My bad. My comprehension skills were temporarily altered by the image of that bar.
