I was just going to post that! This is local to me in Philly. If I didn’t already have my crew I would definitely give this big boy home. I hope he goes to an awesome family that appreciates his exceptional size. I’ve never seen a cat this large that was not a Maine coon

I can't help but wonder if he doesn't have some bobcat blood in him. His facial features kind of have that look and that would help explain his size.

Edit: It seems I'm not the only one who suspects this.

    Shelter love yesterday. ♡

Simon. Beautiful Torti. Very sweet little guy. 12 week old stray.

    20190824_143810.jpg

Edward. FIV positive. Absolutely amazing personality. His sign indicated a pending adoption. Glad to hear that. 3 month old stray.

    20190824_140116.jpg

Lucy. She was nervous. But eventually rolled over on her side and nearly went to sleep. Nice lady. 1 year old stray.

    20190824_134503.jpg

She was in the big community cat room. So I don’t have her name. But what a doll. Very engaging, very affectionate. She's gonna make someone a great companion. No info.

    20190824_142312.jpg
    20190824_142254.jpg

And now the heart strings getting pulled part of it. This is Paul. One of the most gentle, sweet cats I've seen in a while. He quietly reached out and cried when my daughter walked by him. She opened the door and he walked right into her arms. She spent a long time with him. Now that sad part. He's 5 years old and was an owner give-up. He's been adoptable for a couple of weeks now. He's gotta be confused as to what's going on. Hoping for the best.

This is so awesome that you folks do this so often. Sure it’s a bit of a ways, but I would take the 5 year old. We have taken in a few older cats, it’s hard on the family when there old and don’t have much time left, but I know there time leftvis good. 5 really isn’t that old, I’m surprised he is still available.

This is Sofie. Named because she spent the first three weeks under our sofa.

She’s fifteen and going strong. But had a rough start...

At about a year old she came in with a broken leg. It seemed something had bit her. The antibiotic pills the vet prescribed, stuck in her throat and burned through her esophagus. For the cost of a new car all this was eventually fixed ! We call her our therapy cat and she has really helped us through some hard times. Her favorite place is my left shoulder and only I am permitted to scratch her belly.

I admire you guys for doing this as often as you do. We have a local no kill shelter and to be honest I just can’t do it! It would tear me up seeing all these sweet cats without homes. I totally get how someone can go from having a couple of cats then next thing you know they’re up to 20. No doubt if I had lots of land I’d have some sort of cat sanctuary.
Thank you for visiting these guys and showing them some love. I hope that somehow this gives them some hope that they’ll be in a loving home soon.

So my parents are fostering three sibling kittens. They've been quarantined in the bedroom for the last week or so and are just now spending time mingling with the other cats. Junior and Zoe have been aloofly observing the little squeakers but I got some fun shots.
20190825_091808.jpg Above is Zoe. She's the oldest of my 'rents cats. Aloof pet magnet is the best way to describe her. She also rarely makes a peep. Easily one of the quietest cats I've ever known. Dulce is the kitten and he stands in stark contrast when it comes to noise. Mewls like he's got somethin' to tell yah!
20190825_091944.jpg Here is the youngest of my Dads cats Junior, observing his own mini-me Cash. Being a young male, he didnt seem as comfortable getting close to the kittens but unlike Zoe (who simply didnt care) he was very fascinated by them and even came up to sniff them after they were all tuckered out on their bean bag in a purr pile.
20190825_092811.jpg Last but not least is their Tuxedo sister Boots. She has an adorable personality but is not as rambunctious as her two brothers. She decided to get comfy in their barn while awaiting some milk.
20190825_092752.jpg Bonus shot of Ozark photobombing my first attempt to capture Boots in the Barn. He's been an awesome foster dad to the kittens and cleans their butts and faces in lieu of their lost mother.

We've got another tree frog hanging out on the back door eating bugs attracted by the kitchen light. He provides Hobbes with hours of entertainment in the evening.

You can see that Hobbes adjusts the position of the throw rug to suit himself. Sometimes, if it resists, he has to beat it into submission.
