Yea, they are plates to make the rear stiffer for extra weight

It’ll also have 18x less CFM’s than a comparable towable compressor. The Eastwood scroll compressor does about 12.0 CFM. Your average towable compressor does 175.0 CFM. About 15x the air output than the scroll compressor.

 

Who needs cfm when you got 100% duty cycle

 

does it do much for rear end small collision, hit from behind?

Duty cycle doesn’t matter when you only have 12 CFM. That’s no better than my current compressor. 12 CFM is absolutely nothing when it comes to powering constant air usage machinery like sand blasting equipment and jackhammers.
