1000 bucks for a home is cheap imo, and only 12K a year to live there. I paid 20K in just interest alone last year :( not many rent around here, but the one across the street was being rented for 1700/mo for a 300K house. school district is excellent which plays a large role in rent prices as well.

85 :( it was like 50 all day with a 40 something windchill. oh, it was raining too. yesterday too. gaaaaaa

lived in san jose California for all 18 years of my life and i love it :). the weather is amazing, compared to chicago from what i hear from my dad who was born there. Warm summers and not so cold winters unless you want to drive to tahoe. You can go to the snow in the winter and go to the beach in the summer. Great fun all year round and the babes here are like no other

quick thing that I didn't mention, we were driving from LA on the 101. BART is a pretty good system, just falls a little short of reaching LA. Just like Metrolink cant stay on the tracks because of a phone

Yeah they do, but they arent Vienna Beef. The street dogs are close and they are wrapped in bacon.

Electric usually not so bad, 3 guys in a house with Tv's computers, and music equipment, about 90 to 110 every 2 months. Im on LA DWP tho, anyone with Socal Edison want to chime in?

    interesting thread

I'm in SoCal, 30 minutes north of L.A, in Ventura county. It is awesome here. Not as crowded as LA but not too far if you want to hit hollywood or something..One thing i hate is the traffic..My girl lives in north hollywood, sometimes i drive from there, to work down the 101 freeway. A 30 minute drive at night takes FOREVER at 8 am on a weekday .

i leave for work at 5am now, so I am accustomed to it. what takes 30 mins to get into the city in the early morning would take an hour and a half in morning rush hour. I know cali traffic is supposed to be bad, but I don't know how it compares to chicago. hell, they have every damn highway tore up here. The signs even say road construction for the next 50 miles  this is year 2 of one project and it will go into next year. it sucks. theres not enough roads for all these people! we have 3 lane expressways for the most part- it sucks.

i emailed a couple unions to see what they had to say.
