I’m torn of my lift I’m wanting to do the old man emu kit from headstrong the one with the full rear leaf pack, or fox 2.5 with the old mad emu leaf pack. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with these
    I’m putting it on my 2018 trd off-road 4x4.

What are you using the lift for?

Will you be adding a bumper and/or armor in the future?

What type of off-roading do you do if any?

I have fox lift but with 1.5 block and stick leaf. Shocks are 2.5 inch with reservoirs. I read ome is good but do heavier spring rate.

no bumpers it’s mostly going to be for bigger tires and dirt and gravel roads every once in a while

Then just go with the Bilstein 5100’s and an add a leaf unless you carry weight. If you carry more than 200lbs often then a Dakar pack will be nice

counter intuitive, progressive shocks would be smoother riding.

I have the OME lift and am very happy with it. I bought 886 coils and HD leaf springs because I'm going to add bumper, winch, sliders skids and I carry stuff in the bed and tow my little trailer. The ride Is good but a bit stiff unloaded, and it does well off road in mild to medium terrain. Expect some topping out of the shocks when going over speed bumps a little fast if you go with the 886 springs and dont have extra load in the front.

I'm looking at the same lift for mine. I've got full plate front bumper with winch, High clearance rear, Skids, and bed rack with RTT all Brute Force Fab. I've got some Toyo 255/85/16 MT waiting in the garage. How are the rear springs with lots of weight in the bed? What shocks did you go with and are you running a drivers side shim? Did you do any UCA's?

I bought the OME kit, it came with OME shocks. I got 3" lift unloaded. I am fairly heavy now with skids and sliders but not as much as you, and it is about 2.5 - 2.75" over stock.
Tire clearance with 265/70r/17's is great.
The ride is very good both unloaded and loaded. I had about 300# of tools and gear in it and you could hardly tell. I've also hauled my little trailer and it rode well, though the bed was nearly empty.
I had some worries regarding the rear springs and how they are somewhat of a "w" shape but I guess that is normal. They aren't contacting the overload springs, and I havent seen any major settling. I am waiting on my slimline front bumper and will install it with a winch. Hopefully the front doesnt settle too much. I'd like to add a rear bumper, but I like the BSM and don't want to abandon it.

I liked ome for the first six months but my 887/Dakar medium kit sagged too much for my liking. If I could do it again I'd get an adjustable front coilover to adjust for any sagging that might occur.

I hear this about OME as well even though I thought they sorted sagging issues. What about FOX IFP 2.0??

im in the same boat in between options. i want to run 285/65/18s. i dont need to haul heavy loads or do major towing. some mild off roading not gonna go baja or anything crazy. my 06 taco i just had a rough county spacer lift, would like to do some suspension mods this time. also would like to use stock UCAs. was looking at emu and bilsteins.
