I’m the kinda guy who powdercoats the bolts on my manual hub dials, but freakin’ hooks? Man. That powdercoat will be ruined after a few uses.

I actually calculated the cost per kWh of running it, it isn't as bad as you’d think. A comparable furnace uses more energy than my compressor does.

gotta sandblast parts of the defective paint on the frame of my truck! and put much better quality stuff onit
a local shop quoted me $10k to do it, sounds like he didn't really want to do it because I cannot possibly see it costing so much!

Go get yourself a full body suit and a fiberglass sandblasting hood plus a full face respirator. You do not want to breathe that shit in.

Also if you’re doing the frame you can’t use any dinky compressor. You need something like the construction one I have.

I need to open my compressor up and do some surgery before its time to lift my dads truck. Stupid thing trips the breaker on startup sometimes. Says it will run on a 15 amp circuit, yet its tripping a 20 amp breaker. I think its got a capacitor that needs replaced.

also some toxic stuff to immediately wipe on to stop flash rust

I have a thing for deep purples on old vehicles. Also semis. A Peterbilt 389 in that color is gorgeous.maxresdefault.jpg

I would wear one of those DuPont chemical suits or a really really heavy coverall. A face hood won’t do good. You need a fiberglass face mask specifically for sandblasting.

I dunno. I read online that theres a capacitor in there that gives the motor a little extra juice on startup that can go bad.

yes its where most of the defective paint that I never see at the spray N wash in the dead of winter has separated from the metal way up high in there can barely reach it
i suppose its road spray that just sits up there :notsure:
local mechanics said its not too bad, they have seen worse
just like to take care of it before it gets more
