You might still be able to ... taser is non-lethal, I, on the other hand, would wind up in jail before the first set of shifts was up.

I actually wanted to be a Forest Ranger. I had allergy problems too when I was young. I was basically allergic to being alive. All better now cause of the shots I took for 2 years back in my youth. I would still like to be a Forest Ranger, because for the most part, I like dealing with tree's and animals better than I do people. Present company in this thread excluded from that comment of course.

hey, at least I'm honest :notsure:
I was talking with a Ranger one day in Yelly... I was watching a bull elk from a safe distance, some people walked in between me and him. I told them to get back, they were too close. They just ignored me. Next thing I know I hear a voice behind me say, "you better listen to what the lady (me) says, she's right and you guys are too close." I turned around and it was a park ranger. He had heard me warning the folks. We talked for a few minutes and I made a comment about how clueless people were and that I thought the park rangers should be allowed to carry cattle prods. He said "Oh, we'd never punish the animals for people's behavior like that!" I said, "who said anything about using the prod on the animals?" He hesitated for a second and then started laughing. Said, "yeah, I don't think they'd let us do that either." :D

Don't get me wrong; I like what I do, I'm good at it and I make descent money (better than I would as a Ranger) but I do wonder if I would have chosen differently years ago.

And yes, the stupidity I see seems to grow exponentially every year.

see about comment about my convo with the ranger

I'm on my 5th and final year of shots. Can't believe what a difference its made. I'm not "cured" by any means but everything is much more manageable now. And it only took 5 years and $10k....

My granddaddy was a Sheriff here back in the 50's and then a Murder Detective until he retired. He used to tell us stories about the criminals he would catch that were being charged with murder. How they would "accidentally" hit their heads on the patrol cars when being put in the car. Or "accidentally" have their fingers broke when the were shutting the doors on the patrol cars.

Also, sitting here in camp at Jenny Lake (Google it) and I've been listening to a helicopter flying up and down Cascade Canyon (Google it) for the last 20 minutes or so. This is a no fly zone....unless you're SAR. Somebody's getting a fancy ride out of the mountains tonight.

I would probably get myself into trouble as a ranger, I would end up throat punching someone then they’d catch my knee with their skull on the way to the ground

You found them that way. They were being chased by a bear and they fell. Tragic.

    Yeah, that’s what happened

Dude kept mumbling the bear kicked him in the taint as I “helped” him into the back seat of the truck
