I’m not replacing the emblem, just want to take it out; hydrodip it a diff color/pattern. And put back on as original. It just pops back in right?

The clips (that’s what I call them) are permanently attached to emblem. They have a “L” type shape to them that go through small holes in airbag cover

Ah so I think I get what you’re saying. If I want to remove it and be able to snap it back in, I’ll have to remove the cover. Otherwise I’ll be cutting the actual mounting/snapping clips off? Just wanting to be double sure

The “clips” are a permanent part of the Toyota logo. I have no idea how to remove the Toyota logo without destroying it. The logo seems to be a somewhat flexible plastic.

If you plan on removing airbag, I would disconnect negative battery terminal

How did you do this? Did you take the airbag out and remove the emblem that way, or did you pry it up, clip the tabs, and just glue it back on?

Sure wish he would make some retro stripes...been waiting for about three months now. I don’t think they are coming back.

Unfinished is still colored and complete. But they are not acetone smoothed, sanded, and clear coated. I think they still look good, but you can tell it's 3d printed so might not be for everyone.

I know, I'm sorry. I have had a really hard time getting them to turn out right. I throw away 4 out of 5 of them because of little blemishes. They are not going away though! I have a batch of the monochrome replacements printing now.

If you look closely I did a write up. The wells around the factory logo are deeper on the second gen, so the best way I found was to dremel out the center to make a place to fit the new emblem nicely. It will sit very high if you just apply without removing a good bit of material from the airbag cover. The thread I mentioned in the post above has all the instructions for removal of the cover, other than that it’s grinding and gluing.
