Sure, sure, blame it on Paypal!!! I was really hoping for a 1st Gen review before the deadline...I can only hope someone receives theirs on Tuesday (What a horrible Monday for no mail to run?!?!) and shares their experience. I did a little research into the ScanGauge II issue, and thought I would share it with anyone else in my shoes.

TTORA Link About ScanGauge II ABS Issue On 03/04 Tacoma's It seems like the ScanGauge II had some of the same issues when it came to compatibility with ABS equipped 03's and 04's. The TTORA thread talks about the issue being the way the gauge attempts communication with the truck, and sends the ABS into diagnostic mode, therefore disabling it. They discussed three possible solutions to maintain usage.

#1 - Unplug the gauge after starting the truck, and then plug it back in. (a P.I.T.A.)
#2 - Modify the cable/plug to eliminate the pins that trigger the ABS issue. (a bigger P.I.T.A)
#3 - Edit the setting of the gauge to only communicate with the truck in it's "preferred language" (ISO) as opposed to cycling through it's available options of communication called Forced Protocol. (Best case scenario.)

All these seem like they could work as solutions on the UltraGauge, but it worries me that the actual manufacturer of the product called out a specific problem with ABS equipped 1st Gen Tacomas. I guess I could always sell it on Craigslist locally if I buy it and it makes my truck explode.....

Mine came in the mail today. Hooked it up temporarily before heading to the gym. First impression is good. Am going to play around with the gauges a bit. I like it. Nice group buy!

Just got mine. Easy to use menu. Love it.

Will check how useful it is when I connect it to my Jeep Liberty and see if it can really get the error codes.

Are you insinuating that I am just saying "fuck off" to the other 1st gen owners. I own an '02 anyway so I don't know if the issue is even aimed at me anyway. I can't help paypal takes 3-5 days to take the cash out of my account and another 3-5 days for the check to clear. Sorry if I messed you up man, It can't be helped though.

I would say, "Thanks for the awesome TacomaWorld group buy! Let me know what else I need to do."

But I am also including you on the list... so that is two ways were are trying to get you the rebate.
