I've done a mod or two
One of the interesting things about super luxury brands like Rolls-Royce is even parts for old 80s and 70s models are still priced like the car is brand new off the showroom floor. So even if you buy the car for $700, if a door lock actuator goes out or you need a new turn signal switch it's going to be a couple thousand each.

I guess the newer BMW built ones are better since they share a of parts with common BMW's. Was it Hoovie who fixed the misfire on his Phantom by using a $25 BMW ignition coil?

I don't know. I occasionally watch Tyler Hoover but I find his show format extremely annoying and his recurring list of characters about as annoying.

Honestly I probably would consider it over having to do that again. It was cool to learn how to do but there's so much that can wrong with laying down 10ft long 5ft wide sheets of vinyl that I wouldn't want to do it regularly.

The big blank walls were pretty easy, but working around doors and light switches/outlets/AC controls is a PITA

no doubt, but it's not like you get a lot of assurances from some random worker you pick up off the street versus hiring a professional. Or in this case, me getting taught by someone that kind of knew what they were doing...but the labor was free lol.

Why did he build an automatic ball polisher when he could hire a few Mexicans to do it?

Be a funny Saturday Night Live skit or something to feature a bunch of dayworkers being hired to oversee a NASA spaceshuttle launch or spinal surgery and have them kick ass at it, lol
