    Howdy everybody,
New user, lurker for a while. Been driving a ‘19 Taco OR for about a month now. Had other trucks growing up in Idaho but we decided to splurge and get ourselves something special.
Wife Command and I are looking for suggestions on overland/camping with mountain bikes. Trying to figure out how to keep two bikes out of the way but still protected while picking through forest or over rocks. I’ve seen the external bike mounts but don’t like how vulnerable it makes the bikes nor do I want to compromise angles. Want to try to keep them in the bed with a rack equipped with RTT at cab height. Anybody running a rack with a canvas topper beneath?

Welcome. Fellow Coloradoan here! I was thinking of doing the alpine loop next summer I’ve heard it’s a pretty good loop for overlanding!

Very awesome! The alpine loop is a great ride, for sure. You may have to detour off of it into a side gulch to get a sleeping spot. It can be pretty busy.

I was hoping to do a couple of loops on it this mid October to take advantage of the reduced tourist level. But, I got sick.....it snowed a couple of inches twice...and they closed it for the season.
