have you tried tuning the antenna any?
Are you testing with the truck on or off? Tacoma’s have a lot of RF interference in them.
Is the radio wired directly to the battery?

 

If you still have access to the other antenna/coax have you tried running the coax straight to your antenna or putting your coax to the mag mount antenna?

Or is it one of those all in one pre-tuned mag mounts?

How do you have your coax ran? Is it next to any major electrical components?

I’d put money on the cable then. Either need a heavier shielded coax or a different routing of it. Another option is A LOT of ferrite chokes on any wires near the coax.

 

Guess i should of put in an MT on there lol. Hankook is the only one that does. Dont know much about hankook truck tires.

 

I ran their MTs on my Jeep back in the day. Did really well on ice/snow for a MT.

If you have the washer on the wrong side it will cause the SWR to peak. I did it. @JBTacoma where is that diagram you sent me?

On all the trucks I've owned, I always go for wider footprint.

It’s more than cutting. I don’t wanna try and run 34+ tires on stock gearing. Lol

I wish. I have a massive “want” list but there’s too many other needs. Maybe when the truck is paid off one day I’ll dump some extra cash into some bigger upgrades lol

 

I know Jeff runs that size in a 17" and i drool over them everytime i wheel with him. @JBTacoma

 

I can tell you that on my 33's i hated the stock gearing. 5.29s helped a ton buy i still beg for more power at lower rpm. My next step is ovtune and a lighter 33" tire.
