Erik I hope I’m not jumping to a wrong conclusion—I thought a previous post said you were from MN, but someone mentioned CA as well. Very different situations. No Valley Fever in MN, though there is a nasty fungus called Histoplasma that’s quite common around the Mississippi River.

Anyway, keep us posted on how things are going. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Was that you? I saw a Tacooma pulled over in the fast shoulder. The driver was flailing his arms and banging on his steering wheel. I assumed he was yelling, as his head was spinning left to right. I kept on keeping on. I thought he pulled over to argue with his wife on his hands free device.

Sounds like something you would see. Most of the time when I see people pulled to the side of the road they are in their vehicle on the phone yelling.

Maybe it was his husband, I assumed it was his wife.

Dude! This hits home for me and I got the chills reading this. I’m very glad some good samaritans decided to stop for you that day.

But Same thing happened to me except on the flight home from Mexico. I got the chills pre flight and when I boarded and sat down the chills got worse. Had numbness all in my face and hands. Hands and arms locked up and legs did too and I could barely breath. I knew what was going on though and I was conscious but literally felt like I was in a black hole and cold not control my body. They had to get the oxeygen masks out and it was a scary experience. Long story short though I was never able to find out what the cause was or what happened. And it left me and my family guessing as to what happened. If you don’t mind sharing some insight on what could have caused this for you I would greatly appreciate that. You can PM me, but if not no worries. Glad your okay.

If it was meningitis that shit is scary. Can take out a healthy person in a few days. Happens in colleges every year.

Glad you got help, and glad you are recovering.
Try not to be cynical about why people who didn’t stop, even tho it’s completely understandable.

You could just as easily be posting from the hospital that you almost died trying to help someone else. It happens everyday.

    Key points -

    1. Stop for people on the side of the road but use caution. Alone or unsure, call the authorities to let them know.

    2. If you don’t feel right (OP or anyone else), don’t drive. Have someone else take you to the hospital. We just scolded my sister in law for this. Damn near in diabetic shock and drove to the hospital herself. Almost blacked out on the way.

Also- Glad you’re ok(ish) OP! Please do us a favor and don’t drive if you don’t feel good in the future!

Because of this reason, Meningitis vaccination is given in many Universities across the country. Taking this vaccine is mandatory in all California State Universities and UC campus and you would get an Immunization hold on your record until you complete the requirements, unless you provide a doctors note to exempt you from it.
