looks fine. Once you cut off the initial cut and can see in you can trim the rest to bring the fill plate closer to the mount.

Lemme do some sketchy and get right back to you... You have some premade plates, or making your own?

Red line is pretty vertical. Orange line follows the "peak" of the curve... If that makes any sense. Yellow line is at just enough of an angle that the open area right on the corner is completely gone. And then the blue line intersects the red and yellow. You don't want the blue line to actually tough the hole where the cusion is inserted through. The hole isn't all on the same plane, so you start by welding the top, then hit it with a bfh to bend the bottom of the fill plate in creating a curved surface where the tire would rub when you went to the next size up.

I have some Bamf plates, I’ll try to go as deep as they let me. They fit pretty good in the hole right now. I’ll do a little grinding and test fitting to max them out.

Jim gave some good goodlines. Just go slow and use one or two extra cutting discs. Cut, fit the plate up and see how much more you can cut/bang in.

Thanks guys for you help. It fits in there pretty nice. I’m not welded up yet, I have a buddy that welds WAY better than me,. Spent the rest of tonight hammering the pinch weld over and heating up my inter fender liners to fit snug. Eyeballed about where I think the tire is going to travel back to the cab mount and trimmed a little bit of the fender, not much just a whisker. Again thanks guys, lots of people on the NW pages have helped me get to this stage:hattip:

My suspensions settled enough now, I defintely need to do the cmc. So lame these trucks can't fit a 33 without going thru all this

I mean, you are going up two sizes from stock, your expectations may be a bit high

See, I don't see two sizes as anything significant for a vehicle marketed as offroad

Tied several boat anchors to my truck to destroy MPG.
Went up to Gallaher Head Lake today, saw a number of Tacomas, maybe someone from here? Drove the bottom and top sections, that is a fun drive with a nice view at the lake at the top. I didn’t f up my fancy new truck, so I got that going for me. Not a lot of trail experience here, mainly I’m a logging road Quilbilly. 2724DC8B-1529-4325-B3EB-AF0404295FEF.jpgA994D71F-1F9F-4BCA-A221-24B1F881D51D.jpg

I have my '98 TRD for sale if anyone is in the market, or you know someone who is. Full details on my Craigslist ad: https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/seattle-1998-toyota-tacoma-trd-v6/6964139938.html. It's not perfect, what 21 year-old vehicle is, but I wouldn't hesitate to fill the tank and take it across town, across the state or across the country. Only real issue is with the ABS system, but I'm sure we've all read negative comments about it, so some may see that as a plus (or at least not a negative). Hate to part with it after all these years and memories, but we don't need 3 vehicles, and playing musical parking spaces is getting tiring...
