Just seen this thread here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-“bullet”-cover-shark-fin-delete.625966/#post-21396824

Thought I would share because it seems that the "shark fin" antenna is sometimes often an issue when trying to mount a rack or other accessories to the tops of the Tacoma. (Yes I know hooke has designed a new rear cross support that is notched for the "shark fin" but I thought it might be worth mentioning). Looks like the guy from this thread is trying to see if their is interest in his low profile "shark fin"

Got my rack installed today. Looks great. Seems like great quality. I can shake the whole truck with it.

The wife and kids are at the mother in laws, so here we go. These are all what comes in the package. I have a 3rd Gen, so the only difference really is that it doesn’t have the numbers like some mentioned, and the last cross bar has a cutout that accommodates the rear antenna. It has a set of directions and hardware list. I put the bolts and washers in baggies cuz I’m ocd like that. I also have 4 led lights that it comes with. Putting them together as we speak. I just added a clear bra on top of my truck where the front of the rack will sit. I’m also adding the rubber trim as mentioned from previous post. The rack is heavy. Definitely does not look cheap. Some mentioned that the powder coating was not great, but the company must have heard you and made improvements. Looks good so far. Finish product by tonight hopefully.

Looking good. Thanks for sharing. Curious if they possibly did increase the quality of the powder coat based on your thoughts. I've been holding off because I am gathering info based on reviews given here but I think it's time I order.

Some of my worries are rust since it is a steel rack. My worries are rust coming from areas where the screws hold crossbars together. Where water could penetrate into the threads. Does anyone know if the screw hardware is stainless?

Here you go gentlemen. The finished product. I’m tired as hell. Been in the garage for hours in this Arizona heat. I put the lights up there to see how they look. I’m digging it. Looks different. I’ll install them when I have the time.

Thanks man! I originally wanted to put a light bar up there, and use these pods as ditch lights. But I kinda like them up there. Looks different.

I have the 4 lights if anyone wants them. I'm not going to use them. I tested one with 12 volts and they had decent output.

Btw the bars are slightly tapered on the ends
The front wider than the back

All right the real question is how y'all setting up your racks? Rotopaks? Awnings? Traction pads? Also what straps/ tie downs do you like to use?

My RTT uses the u clamps
My awning uses a clamp style to mount it to the rails
