I think the most concerning part of this whole thing is the how and why this truck ended up in this spot in the first place...

OP went out for a drive, solo.

OP admits making the mistake of checking out a specific trail.

OP's truck starts sliding off to the side, so he stops and asks for help.

I think he was smart to quit before things got worse, and even smarter to ask for help all while accepting that he bit off more than he can chew.

We all have to start somewhere; I'm watching this thread for an outcome.

I just hope it's stable enough that it didn't slide any overnight. Waiting to here an update from OP.

Yeah, the part thats missing is how you get a full truck width off the trail... that isn’t stuck ON the trail.

True; I'm not familiar with that area to know how much of an incline the truck is sitting on.

I'm going to guess that the OP was either checking Gaia GPS for a moment, scratched his nuts, or took a swig from his redbull.

Well not like that but I know I've done it in snow. Start to slide sideways a little on a slight bank and think I can just work my way out but actually just make it worse.

That's way outta my league as soon as they start going UP. My hat goes off to all those with the Nerve, talent and off road ability for that. :hattip:

oof! this reminds me of getting our subaru stuck in some snow and having it slide nose down off the road a month or two ago. one tiny tree in front of it, and then a steep forest filled incline. I'm usually the adventurous one, but the old lady said to send it, so we went for it and it took a $500 tow to get out. Didn't want to be near the car at all.

Went home and bought the truck two weeks later.

    OP must have been puckered.

It is awesome that you were willing to go out of your way to help someone you don't even know.

We know he has a Tacoma and needs assitance, that's usually good enough for most of us.
