Finally joined the KO2 club yesterday!

Selling my old set of 265/70R16 GY Kevlar Wranglers.

23k miles on them but still have meat. Never wheeled in them (just light off-road). 2 are good and 2 have small nails in tread. One with nail is definitely repairable. The other I’m not sure. But I know they both held air as is. I didn’t even know they were in there until I decided to switch to KO2s.

Figured they are good for those wanting to return to OWM before trade. Or need extra spares.

    Asking $100 obo

    I passed on this.

Really nice guy selling it and he admitted that he didn’t know what he got into when he bought it.

But the front window needs replacing entirely. It's completely shot. The lock/handle needs replacing. The headliner was pretty torn up which exposed rust coating all over the fiberglass. The third brake light didn't work either. And there were four spots of cosmetic damage on the outside that would need decent touch up at the bare minimum.

Plus I've never seen "clamps" like these before. There was a simple bracket riveted to the fiberglass (three on each side) with a j/hook bolt that slide through. The nut and washer on top tightened down and that j/hook slide up under the bed rail. It did not actually press up under the bed rail like a normal topper clamp does, it literally tightened up against the backside of the thin lip. So that lip of his was all flexed out and cracking in spots. When he went to remove the "clamps" all of those bolts snapped in half because the entire mechanism was rusted through, including the brackets riveted into the fiberglass. There was stress cracking in the fiberglass all along the 12 rivets too. And a few of the rivets were busted.

    The search continues....

Good job on walking away. A new front window is at minimum $350 from my memory. 3rd brake light is $40 minimum (plus the time to wire it in).

That J-hook style is how Snugtop made them up until 2002-2003. My current SuperSport has them, but they weren't abused like that guys. Not rusted, not stress cracked, etc. Properly tightened and not overtightened, the bed seems to be fine so far. That includes a few hundred miles of washboards and more mileage off-road for me.

The XTR that Tim now has had holes in the bottom of the fiberglass and I bought new clamps when I picked that one up that distributed the load better:

Does yours have a simple bracket riveted to the fiberglass for that j-hook to pass through? Seems like an odd design to put that much pressure/flexing on that really thin lip of sheet metal.

Thanks. And no issues with that thin sheet metal flexing?
