So I’m not going to ask @Hobbs to do anything else. He’s gone above and beyond for someone he’s never met before.

Currently I am waiting for @tetten and @theesotericone on their way back from the western sierras. They’ll be the taco recovery unit for today.

With how soft that terrain is, talking with Hobbs, the best thing is going to be to get a truck past mine, anchor the front and rear, and try to slide it back on the road.

When we were looking at it yesterday, if we pulled the back, the front would slide down etc... right now it needs two good anchor points, which there are no good natural options.

To answer a few things, I went off the side a tiny bit and my rear driver went into the soft and it pulled my front driver as well. Its a nasty terrain i have no experience with and I made the wrong decision. Tried to power out, but all that did was slide the truck down to that position. Didn’t matter the other tires were on the hard pack road. That’s when I knew I needed help.

This is definitely one of those times when I should have listened to the “never wheel without a buddy” statements. Had I not tried to power out I’m sure Hobbs would have been able to get me to the road no problem. But with my improper judgement for the situation I made it worse. But luckily I stopped before anything worse happened.

If anyone can recover it, those two can.

Glad you are ok and able to see it for what it is. Good luck with this, at least you have made some good friends.

Yeah. I work with Tetten. Good guy, hell of a truck. I’ve heard good things about theesotericone and can’t wait to meet him. Too bad it’ll be under this situation.

As for future updates, I probably will let everyone know when we’re leaving for the trail, and then hopefully after that it’ll be when the truck is back on pavement.

Since I have to get home to go to work early tomorrow I’ll try to post up the recovery (pics and explanation) tomorrow evening or so.

Thanks @JaCado, even though you’re not up here you’ve had some good advice. And it’s also nice to get some assuring feedbacks.

I just got back into town. @tetten is heading down to pick up the OP. Once he's back Andy and I will go up and get @rabidsupra out. I had so much fun wheeling this weekend another trail is just a bonus.

@Hobbs Thanks for helping out man. That was very solid of you.

We didn't do good yet. It'll be at least another 2 hours until we're at the rig. There will be 2 very capable rigs to recover the stuck taco.

I know this trail very, very well. The place the @rabidsupra is stuck is loose and way steeper then those photo's make it look. He's straddling a 1000' drop-off. It's gonna be a fun recovery.

I'm catching up on the thread waiting for @tetten to get back here from your place. You've been up there and know what the terrain is like. Careful will be the key word of this recovery. I'll update later if I'm still awake. It's been a long weekend of wheeling.

You fellas are experienced and well-prepared, I think it will go smooth for you. Tettens' truck is a beast!
We'll get together soon for a brew. I'd like to check out your truck.

    Be careful!

EDIT: The "A" Team is going up for a high-level recovery and here I am playing with my meat. The story of my life...

We’re all heading up now. Probably won’t update until we’re back on pavement. Going to be a long evening.
