I think you can get a tailgate lock. I seen folks around here posting about those. That would help you too if you decide to get you the cover.

This one looks identical to the Gator tri-fold tonneau. I'm pleased with our Gators but this ebay one is a lot cheaper.....

 

By the way! Can you see the brand of your cover somewhere?

Here are some pics. I cannot find a make on it though. Tried to take pics of the installation hardware so you can compare those to what you are thinking about buying. These prolly don't help much, but here you go.

Thanks a lot for the photos, bud! Honestly, It's hard to tell because they all looks the same or at least very similar! But it seems to me like they are prone to dents and scratches, right?

 

No, dont think so in my case. There is a couple of drilled holes in mine where the old fellow that owned it before me had something mounted to it. He stuck some cheapo sealer in the holes. I gotta dig that out and put some good sealer back in the holes. I is pretty dadgum sturdy and tough. I have got a tool box that weighs about 50 lbs and I would be comfortable setting that up there on it. You can bang on it with your fist and not make a dent in it.

 

Good to know, because I was reading some reviews of this Trident tonneau cover https://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com/Tonneau-Covers/Trident-ToughFold-Tonneau-Cover and some of the people were complaining about receiving their covers dented by the carriers. I thought that maybe the aluminum was easy to dent.

 

Mine is HEAVY duty plastic and looks to be filled with a dense styrofoam type substance. I can tell that by looking into the holes where the old man drilled.

 

I don't think that your cover is from Ebay, honestly! Does that looks to you like something made in China?

 

I don't know. The old fellow I bought it from acted as if it came from the dealer that way. He was a pretty honest guy but that doesn't really mean a lot when a salesperson is yacking at you. So the one you are looking at is made of aluminum?

 

Probably OEM! Yes, I think they are made from Aluminum! Not sure!

 

For all I know, mine might be aluminum with a plastic skin. At any rate, its pretty dang tough. It is like anything else you buy. It all depends on how YOU treat it. I have seen morons complain about a product only to find out they have been pushing said product beyond the specified limits of that product.
