I am curious, has anyone ever ventured to look for wheels in a junk yard for an 05 or newer Tacoma. I am exploring this avenue seeing if I can find say some FJ wheels or some nicer Tacoma wheels in 17" plus the TPMS. I have started to lok yet just thought I would ask. Becasue I have access to free powder coating just about any color I need and would like to have an extra set wheels as mine are shitty looking from the corrosion. The OEM ones need some TLC.

Ive often thought the same thing but I have never looked into it either. We actually have a a guy in Felton PA that parts out old tacomas and sells the parts, his business is Weikles from expierience he is a complete ripoff. He usually wants more than the stealership. see your from PA me to man York.

Here on the West coast I had found some but they do want a pretty penny for them. Like $200 a piece. So I went to our local Les Schwab tire dealer and got them for $60 a piece.

No Les Schwab around here, I have been keeping an eye out for any deals. A local kid works for a Automotive store runs a Taco on a 6" procomp lift. Talking with him he would be able to hook me up if I wanted.

I figured they didnt have Les Schwab dealers back there but forgot to mention just to check you local tire shops for what they might carry or have in the back.

I have been checking around. Just looking right now, probably going to buy them at the end of the winter. I have a 45 mile drive on the highway and my tires still have good tread.

Check in with your local Toyota dealership. They do wheel upgrades too. Many times they will have a set of takeoffs from a customers FJ.

I bought a set of FJ wheels from a service guy that worked at a Toyota dealership. He said they were takeoffs from another customers FJ. He took them home for an off road build he was working on and never used them. I got an awesome deal.

Just go around and leave your name and number with the dealerships and local wheel stores, so when they do get a set they can give you a call.

You must have visited A&A in kingston! Denaples also has a junkyard you could check.

    Another thought.....

Do a Goggle search for "auto recyclers".

I did that a few years ago looking for replacement parts for my daughters Jeep Grand Cherokee. There's a lot of "junk yards" that are on line now, and with a lot of them, you can search their inventory.

I just starterd looking into this checked with some local junk yards 2 of the more well known ones and may as well just buy new. Didn't think of going around to the dealerships though, I would think most people take there wheels when they buy new.
Thanks for all the suggestions folks.

Yes you are correct and checked Denaples, Uncle Louis is a rip off he charges way to much for stuff. Besides he need to pay his lawyer. Checked Harry's also. goiung to check with some local salvage yards around here. Have you seen the Taco over there? The kid does have a nice truck, but he is going through wheel bearing like crazy.
Now that I am thinking about it he was telling me his grill was still very expensive barely and discount.

The search is going to continue, I like the FJ wheels. See what I can find.
