2018 DCLB Off-Road auto, running Beta 2.0 04A61 P5FLASH. Stock truck with no extra weight. 550 miles on the beta 2.0 tune, running 89 octane currently, with 200 of those miles being on 93 octane. Performed the octane learning, per the instructions. Always in Drive, and keep her going from there. Please see feedback in bold below.

Going on ~700 mile trip next week in the taco. If you would like something more specific, let me know and I will work to make it happen. Thank you for all that you do!

    - overall response / tip in (perfect for me and no issues. truck goes when I hit the throttle and does not have that sudden surge of 1.05 / 1.05.1 when waiting to hit the throttle.)
    - response and part throttle acceleration "getting up to speed" (perfect and no issues.)
    - 2nd to 3rd shift, light throttle (truck shifts just fine and has no issues at light throttle going from 2nd to 3rd. Holds the 3rd gear longer and does not hunt for gears when in the city. No need for ECT nor S-mode.)
    - 3rd to 4th shift, light throttle (truck shifts just fine and has no issues at light throttle going from 3rd to 4th. Holds the 4th gear longer and does not hunt for gears when in the city. No need for ECT nor S-mode.)
-effectiveness of current changes to use of 5th,6th, highway driving (Highway driving is great. Never have to be in S-mode on the on-ramp. Does not hunt for gears when going thru the hills, nor does it jerk going from 6th to 4th gear using cruise control, or no cruise control going up a hill. Acts very seamless with holding the gear, or dropping to 5th and rolling the hill.)
    - experience of trucks with heavy weight (N/A.)

Engine RPM will increase at the truck shifts from 6th to 5th, giving more power and torque. You'll likely never see the truck drop into double over-drive in speeds above 80mph, unless your going downhill, maybe.

Higher RPM puts you into the power band.

Hmm, surprised, but cool, I didn't realize anyone would like this, have you ever driven any other vehicles (besides a Harley) that cruise at the 1100-1200 rpm range?

What’s fun is that 6th becomes 5th (with 4.88’s) pushing the gas only results in a downshift to 5th (from 6th) on an incline. Flooring it you will see 4th at times...

The stock gearing is too tall. 65mph in 6th on 4.88’s is 2000rpms

That is horrible! Big tires and armor? Looks like it doesn't even hold 5th.

Surprise too. I don't like to lug the motor like that.

Yes, but all good, this is a subjective thing - different trucks maybe are different, mine actually sounds weird at this 45 mph 1100rpm cruising range, like a harmonic hum. But pop it in 5th, its a real nice 1500rpm sweet spot, can't even hear the engine. I shall await custom tuning! Or go buy a damn manual like i should have

You would like 4.88’s. Live in the sweet spot.

255/80/17 and sliders. The truck should have the power at 3500rpm to hold 80. I digress, are you guys with 2.0 staying in 4th at 80mph?

My truck is vastly overweight and holds 80-85 at about 2500 :notsure:

NO. That’s stock behavior. 255/85R16 and super heavy on stock gears. 93 fuel. Not sure if the culprit is 87 octane.

No, and I should clarify I was merely pointing out why it isn’t in 6th and why you shouldn’t expect 6th at those speeds, in particular with 33” tires.

I would expect 5th on flat ground at those speeds, without a head wind. I could see it shifting into 4th with a headwind though. I’ve experienced 4th at those speeds (85mph speed limit in Texas) with a headwind, with both stock and more often with my 32” E load tires along w/ -350lbs armor.

All of these observations are with both stock tune and OVtune (I’ve run every version to date). The only difference is now the truck doesn’t do the shift dance like it use to. FWIW, I usually find myself in 5th at 70mph+ on flat ground, in the trucks current tire and armor configuration. Stock gearing.

This latest rev. of 2.0 is perfect for me. In fact I’m sort of hesitant trying upcoming revisions just because of the possibility of it being ruined by minority-complainers
