Had to go to Kamloops bc for work so I brought along the family to finish up the trip with a weekend at the provincial campground at Shuswap lake. Maiden voyage of our rtt after buying one post our last trip with the rental

Found a great spot south of Boise along the Snake River during my drive south. Amazingly quiet and still.

Scotch Creek. Was pretty good. Bathrooms could use an upgrade but overall pretty nice place. Lots of shade.

We did get dumped on for about 6 hours overnight.

Tent kept us dry but now I'm spending time drying it (and the rest of our stuff) out

I would put a pail of DampRid in the back floorboard. You would be surprised how much moisture is collected in the pail over time. The pail is about the size as a gallon ice cream pail. I leave one in my truck year round and change it out in the fall.

Aww crap, as of Friday I’m a new taco owner. Luckily my cement taco with a Tepui will have a camper shell so hopefully I’m not that awkward guy around town who’s got the same rig.

In the truck? Or in the tent?

I was thinking about putting something in with the tent when closed up

Not sure about the tent. Would not hurt to try.
I saw the picture of your truck with the doors open is why I mentioned the DampRid. It is easy to use. Just take the lid off and set it in the floorboard. If you need to move it you just put the lid on it and set it in the truck bed. The moisture it draws cannot slop out of the pail because it has ground up corn cobs in the bottom that soak up the moisture that is drawn from the air.

The crystal style kitty litter is the same silica gel that you find in dessicant packs. Buy a bag of that and fill a sock with it. Tie one end and toss in the tent,

My first post on the TacomaWorld forum:

Here's my tent camping setup and my homemade 12V power source with a battery that's automatically recharged when my engine is running and isolated when it's not. I designed it so that there aren't any modifications to my truck that I can't easily undo.

I'll describe it later if there's any interest.

Good call. Might look into something like that as we're nearing the wet season in BC (aka anything other than July/Aug) :)
