It was def one of the better beers Saturday!

I actually managed 2 bottles of it too. I got one and had my GF get one, which turned out to be the very last bottle available.

I had been talking to the couple in front of us in line and buddy was super nice. We were both bummed about the ba Oreo selling out so fast, but both really excited to try the Lava cake.

There were several employees taking bottle orders, and I guess our order got entered faster... My GF and I each got 1 and he got shutout.

GF and I felt really bad about it, seeing as how they were in front of us... So I decided to go ahead and trade him for a different bottle. Felt better about it... Until I actually got to try the lava cake lol! Damn it was good! At least I have the one bottle to look forward to haha! And the look on his face was priceless too... I could tell it def made his day.

 

I just can't do a lineup, I'm not sure why. I much prefer just paying to be in a beer club (The Bruery), or getting access by showing loyalty (Bottle Logic).

There’s a defunct ski area near my house that has some mountain bike trails that are open to the public. About 2000 feet up the hill (or a mile of switchbacks) there is a Coke machine in the woods which dispenses beer. It’s currently got Founders All Day IPA for sixty cents per can. I need to remember to bring correct change when riding here.

So....how does the thing run!?

 

It sits in the path of the old t-bar. The towers for the t-bar are still there, so they have strung up some kind of power cable on the towers with an outlet at the machine. I don't know enough about the resistance at that distance to know what kind of wiring you would need, other than I assume that you can't just string a bunch of regular extension cords together.

 

The amount of power that must pull to keep them cool has to be a decent bit, meaning you're spending hundreds on extension cords for running that thing I would think... Unless it had solar? Either way, that's pretty awesome, and also a steal per beer.

 

I'm not sure about solar, but it seems that the guy who owns the property isn't concerned about money. He owns a mountain bike company and does quite a bit to promote the area. He and a partner also recently bought 150 acres of land that borders a different trail system in town and they're starting to cut trails there that will be open to the public.
