:der: That car is in the early stages of being a flop. I hope I'm wrong and the aftermarket picks it up, but so far it isn't looking great.

Your photo is just what my brain needed to see.:thumbsup:

$37K is the asking price after the $1,750 Toyota discounts and other dealer discount for a 2019 Tacoma TRD Premium.

You haven’t been following it too much have you? There’s a tune that increases the power by 100HP already. The supra is living up to the name, its exploding in the aftermarket community. Do some research and you’ll find that a lot of the hate is from people who don’t know anything about the car. People who actually know cars are impressed at how the engine was engineered, and I’ll take the opinion of people who know cars over internet warriors anyday:typing:

OP, sorry for the thread jack.

There are gobs of slightly used 3rd gen Tacoma's around for 30k or so. Buy one of those instead and skip some of the depreciation. A lot of people trade in 3rd gen's for other cars, which is why you see so many on non-Toyota lots. Check the repair history carefully to ensure you don't get some lemon. Quality control is all over the place with the 3rd gen.

i have my tacoma and bought a BRZ for a second vehicle....

i already had a 2 inch lift and 31's on the taco, now im free to add to the lift and put 33's and a slimline bumper.... and add power to the brz

Insane based on that decision. No.

Having two midsize body on frame vehicles may be the void of practicality.

If I was in the market for a new vehicle I'd be looking at a 3/4 WT 4x4 w/a plow attachment.

If that’s The Premium and Tech packages (leather, moonroof, heated seats, backup sensors, etc.) then that’s a good deal. You should definitely be getting 10% or more off MSRP right now.

i think it will do very well. i wouldnt buy one simply cause theres no manual tranny, and think they look beyond ugly, but the word is out that they are making way more power than advertised and easily tunable to make even more

Dude why are you going to have two of basically the same car except one has a bed. The T4R is better overall if you don't need a truck bed. Horrible financial decision. Two vehicles sitting depreciating for no reason.

You've hit the nail on the head with your answer. That is the joy of money and spending it for a truck I want and don't need makes it even better. Definitely affordable and will not cause any financial stress or hardship. I had a friend just recently ask about a smaller purchase he was about to make and had doubts. I reminded him of what he told me a few years ago when I was debating a purchase less than $2K ... "just live". In answering your last question, maybe not as strong as 'regret' but I have no doubt it would bother me every time I saw a Tacoma. Chances are the money is already spent on different cars if I don't buy the Tacoma.

You know there are fools that spend as much as OP would on two toyotas on their ONE American made vehicle, and with less money in the bank, right?

I would not buy a 2019. I would wait and see how you like the 2020.

Nothing wrong with two vehicles, if you can afford it. People have extra rooms in their house.
It's always nice to have extra things in life. Right?

If you can buy it (vs hand-extended, puppy-eyed-expressions "purchase") and you want it, then it's between you and other family members' wants.

    It's an easy equation.

I have a buddy who owns two Tacos. And a Mercedes Kleeman. And a Shelby Cobra. And a restored Huey helicopter. And a Gulfstream G5. On and on... Is he insane? No! He traded rag paper and lines on a spreasheet for real stuff!

Insane is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Like trusting a lawyer, believing a politician, or trying to legislate morality.
