Lift kit combo

I am thinking of trying the rcd 4 1/2 in lift with 883 coils [1 1/2in of lift]
as my sport springs have saged over a 1/2in from stock height ,i would probly only see a 4in gain with that spring,
any thoughts ,maybe 884 coils ?cause im double cab long bed,but they are 2in of lift on a 4 1/2 lift ,would be either a sick lift or to much cv angle.
only other things i could think of would be that it will mess with the valveing of the longer 5100 shock that comes in the kit, or the shock it self would now not be long enough?,
an brake lines may or maynot work, any thing else im missin


i all ready have light racing uca's so getting alingment with aftermarket coils would not be a problem

 

If you are worried about your CV angles you can get a front Diff drop kit. If you were 4x2 you could get 4" spindles (i don't think they make spindles for 4x4)

Ah okay, it shouldn't be that bad with the angles if you already have a diff drop... There's guys running 6" lifts with diff drops and they have no problems.

 

wont work... your front drive shaft will contact the lca... the RCD spindles aren't big enough to handle much over 4.5" of lift.

trust me we accidently had the springs on wrong during the install and everything was jacked up, UCA contacted springs, drive shaft rubbed LCA, and cv angle was ridiculous.

I have after market UCAs too

 

diff is already lowered with RCD kit...???

 

yeah a diff drop will probably not work due to the diff relocation brackets with the RCD kit... correct me if I'm wrong but if you put a diff drop on then the brackets won't align

look at the RCD install first before you add anything to this lift. This lift is made precisely to fit together as is...

ya i figured the diff drop that you install with a 3in kit would be removed,
how about just a differnt spring like the stock offroad spring, or something close to stock height
or what about a ome spacer kit i think they go up to 7/8 ,that would compensate for the 1/2 spring sag ,an get me to allmost 5in

 

I find it hard to believe that at full front sag all those components are going to come into contact... I'm assuming that you mean the front axles also, not the drive shaft. by saying that a 2" spring will not work on the RCD kit your saying that the kit doesn't provide 2" of down travel...

 

Oops I meant axles... we put the spring seat on upside down and everything made contact ucas lcas it was just a mess.... now drew02a had a 1 " spacer on the rcd kit and it worked I just think the 884 might be too much

 

Since the RCD kit is a knock off of the procomp kit it should be able to handle the additional lift. Depending if they kept the Procomp specs. (Not sure about the RCD spindles)

Procomp of all the DB lifts are able to be jacked up the most, over the intended design.

You shouldn't have UCA issues because you'll be running the LR UCA's.

If what "solus694" is saying is true? (LCA's rub axles)
Then RCD has a detrimental Design flaw!
The LCA's through the full ranges of drop should NEVER contact the LCA's!

If this is true RCD is an accident waiting to happen!

 

The lca only rubbed when the spring seat was installed wrong if installing the seat upside down increases the length of the shock Assembly then that was the problem otherwise I'm wrong. Once everything was correctly install all was good

 

RCD a knockoff of Procomp? how did you come up with that?
