problems with the new Tundra?

Anyone know of any real problems or down fall of the Tundra

 

Way too much horsepower and torque. Overbuilt from the factory. Only a couple grand more than a taco.

 

The Tundra Limited 4x4 is an absolutely beatiful truck. If it came with the option of a 6 speed manual transmission I would have bought one.

 

Gas mileage is about it. The frame could be a bit stiffer. Nothing major.

Vies with the also excellent F-150 for best "half ton" (because these are really 1-ton trucks) on the road.

I even noticed this butt wobble on my Tacoma in the first week I got it. Was following my wife while she was driving it and went through a stretch of road under construction. Is it because of the C-channel frame?

 

Fords suck, i can say this because i had one. I watched a video of a comparison of the ford and tundra The only thing Ford has is "better accessed recovery hooks" and frame strength. Get outta here, id rather anything but another Ford, the truck started to crap out on me at 70k miles .... First it was the alternator (that got replaced 2 times,) the odometer stop coming up so it was just blank most of the time.... I had to re gear the tranny and front Diff because Ford has shitty quality gears. I remember my truck started to miss fire due to the coil of the master cylinder got shot, then my radiator line broke within 2 weeks of that being fixed.

But realistically, Tacoma's at least are known for their off road prowess. You want flexy frame for that.

It's true. Why did they get such renown? Because these little bastards stock with some decent tires were beating the shit out of larger more expensive rigs and they just refused to die. They're still tooling around in Afghanistan as attack trucks for insurgents.

 

Not doubting that. I've seen video clips of them out there and heard many first hand accounts from the service folks on here. For some reason offroad prowess sounded funny to me at the time...idk.

 

I heard The New Tundras have a 3 piece constructed frame...

The only people who take those videos seriously is the marketing department. Then they remove a spring to get a smother ride.

Then everyone complains. That was the older video. "Smoother ride that a Toyota."

Now they just figured out the natural frequency of the frames and built the test track to exploit the differences and you all bought it.

Nice to know it's got such a good ride over such a bad road for the thieves that are going to steal the Ford. Number one stolen vehicle in Canada.
