An update if you're interested: I spoke with the Tech on Monday afternoon and explained to him what I was able to trace, and what happened. He was appreciative and gave some positive input. I dropped the truck off Tuesday night, they looked at it yesterday, and called yesterday afternoon.

They are replacing the AC compressor and the clutch. Fingers crossed that parts come in today or early tomorrow morning so I can get it back tomorrow afternoon. If not, I'll have to wait until Monday.

I'm anxious to know if the climate control computer failure had anything to do with the compressor and/or clutch failing, why a fuse only blew after the computer was replaced, and if this is going to fix the issue or if there will be more problems involving the AC amplifier.

In the meantime I'm switching back and forth between riding my motorcycle and driving the Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler is usually reserved only for short trips, around town, the beach, etc. It's fun, but it's rough on the back.

Trucks done, picked it up last night. Hats off to the dealer, they really busted to get it done for me. Largest delay was availability of parts and shipping from Toyota warehouses.

Replaced compressor and AC clutch, and all is well. The Tech had stayed late to finish my truck, and I wasn't able to talk to him. I'm still curious if the Tech knew of any relation causing the failure of the multiple items (compressor, clutch, climate control module), but I will not find out until Monday.

Hopefully this thread helps if someone experiences similar issues and is out of warranty.

Thank you for everyone's input, help, and guidance!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some driving to do. And the rattly Wrangler is staying home.

My guess is that when the clutch failed that the suppression diode failed as well and induced a voltage spike that jumped the ac relay contacts and blew the module.

    Not bad eh!

I'm guessing the module was never bad. They shotgunned parts until he actually tracked down the problem.

So if the fuse wasn't blown before the module was changed, how could the old module still be good if it was just blacked out? If the clutch or compressor failed but never tripped a fuse, would that have a way to make the module go black?

To the OP - did you ever get answers? My 2017 TRD Sport, manual transmission, ~ 65K miles, exhibiting same symptoms, climate controls not working, heated seats/mirrors not working, USB not working, E showing in temperature display. Fuse blows on start up. Local dealership is stumped and want to pull bumpers looking for a possible short. Vehicle is out of warranty.

I have a 2017 tacoma and my ac went out then the abs lights came on with the check engine light..after driving it for awhile the check engine light went off so did the abs light the outside temp on the dash locked at E also.. then drove it for awhile longer and the push button start would not shut the truck off had to disconnect the battery and put it in gear and hit the button to shut off the truck..don't sound like the same issues but Similar I have it in the shop now waiting on the verdict but when I hear back I'll let you know what it is it may help you alittle. They did say that with all those issues mice could have got a wire or two.

I have the same exact problem. I have 2019 TRD Pro. What would you suggest me to do, please? Take it to the dealer or try to fix it myself? What should I replace. Thanks in advance
