Yeah 30-45mph is an awkward spot in the hills,3rd is screaming away and then 4 dogs. 4.88’s have definitely helped. The next tires I’m getting are 12lbs lighter per tire so I’m hoping that’ll help with the lower rpm’s of 4th

Tip in is perfect, smooth and controllable.

    great power

    great shifting.

truck is quieter when cruising freeway

best of all. that damn surge at idle when the a/c kicks in is greatly reduced.

before with 1.05 it would make the truck accelerate forward when in low range before almost caused me body damage a few times

Thank you for working on the surge OVTune.

I noticed less AC surge when it kicks in too....I like it. I also like the fact that we have 3rd gear now in the AT.

You're a good man Dan! @BlazinBlueTaco Always willing to help others. Your Karma is good bro.;)

And 04B31 public has been great for me so far. After testing an early beta of 04B31 for Mat, this is a dramatic improvement! And I've finally stopped worrying about the dreaded and deadly brake override malfunctions that have plagued some of us. Over 2,000 tuned miles with no issues! Hell of a job Mathew.

Do you know of any method to test that the brake override malfunction is resolved? Or just wait and hope it doesn't happen in a bad spot?

Mat modified the throttle tables a little bit in the “pre beta ” he sent me back mid July. The error points to the throttle valve not being in the expected position by the ECU (P2119 DTC). I racked up 2000 miles on that tune with no errors. I had like 6 of them in 600 miles while running the 1.05 tunes. To me it’s fixed.

@OVTune , has engine braking been restored in last Saturday’s Bata release for 04B04 ??? Sure feels like it. Coasting feels diminished.

Okay folks, apologies for assuming - at least several folks enjoy driving in 6th at these speeds, I retracted my test (okay, complaint) to Zendesk, and promise never to mention or bring up any low rpm lugging!

So let me update my testing, 200 miles on most recent release for 2.0, it is spot on jut like the first release, no improvements needed for my application, which is 04B04, 87 octane, 100% stock.

Try it and tell us if its smoother or not. A bit subjective since conditions and terrains will be different for all.

Just flashed the truck. Interestingly the new P5Flash 1.2.2 kept getting quarantined on my wife's computer. Dont have the permissions level to keep it out of quarantine, so I'll be buying a new laptop that isn't a work machine. I launched P5Flash 1.2.1 without any issues and successfully flashed the truck. I know Mat probably woudn't condone this, as there is a reason he updates the software. @OVTune, is there any risks having flashed the Beta using the older version of the software?

Edit space for impressions coming from 1.5.1 91 Performance.

    04B31
    Completed Pulls in 2nd gear

    First impressions:
Tip in is much easier to control on 2.0. I can actually back into my driveway without almost taking out my garage door. Throttle is still very responsive.

With ECT off, the truck shifts very well. Didn't notice the dump the 3rd/4th around a corner which was very frustrating on stock. Pedal is still responsive, but needs to be pushed to really get after it. In D, I noticed shifts would happen around 5.5k when getting on it, and never got into the redline like I could on the 1.5.1 Performance tune. Shifting is miles above stock and even better than 1.5.1.

With ECT on the truck is even more responsive. Still need to play around more and get some freeway on-ramps under my belt to comment.

    More to come.

Update on 04B04 on 2.0 Base Beta. In my initial feedback the only negative I noted was 6, 5, 6, 5 gearhunting while trying to maintain steady cruising speed of 70 mph on flat highway. It was gone in today's commute of mostly highway. Mileage has also been awesome, averaging 19.5 city and 23.5 highway. Haven't got that kind of mileage since stock with the air dam. This is with ECT on. Tune is good with ECT off but ECT really wakes it up.

I tested the two previous 2.0 beta releases for O4B04 and loaded the new one this morning. My TRD Sport is stock and so far the new firmware lives up to its billing. It is similar to the second 2.0 Beta with 93 octane, but the base version has a milder tip-in as expected. I will run it for several tanks of gas and report on the mileage etc.
