Ha ha ... that gives me hope. In fact the dealership in town also has a 2013 White FJ for sale ... maybe I can get a better deal from them if I were to buy the FJ and Taco same time.

As far as hybrids, I can't find any data right now on the rate of battery replacement, but it seems pretty low to me. I've never heard of any of my friends or family with hybrids having to have the batteries replaced. (My sister has a '15 Highlander hybrid.)

Whether or not the battery needs replacement, you do break even on those things eventually if you own them long enough. People underestimate how much they spend on gas. (When we had our Avalanche we were spending about $75 a week on gas--ouch!) The current relatively low gas prices don't make them look as favorable, but that could change very quickly.

Didnt read your post, just the title of the thread. Yes, you are insane.

...ahh, something about having both trucks. Seems logical, I wouldn't question it.

I was divorced early enough that it was not a financial disaster other friends experienced. Never got remarried which makes this truck decision MUCH EASIER. :) I do like the SUV/sports car combo. Like you say "best of both worlds." I did see that movie and was disappointed the bloodhound did not win but I feel that way after ever dog show I might catch on tv. ... the basset hounds never win either.

Oh one final point...when I was looking for trucks there WERE NOT a lot of low mileage, used Tacos as a reasonable price in my neck of the woods. That's why I bought new--even the used ones were fairly expensive.

That is what I found out when living in the Midwest in May and what I am finding out living in the SW ... I always say "for $2,000 more I can buy new"

I should've gotten divorced about a decade earlier--would have saved myself quite a bit I think. But you never know in a state with crazy laws like Wisconsin.

I won't say how much I've contributed to the upkeep of my ex, let's just say she could have bought herself a Maserati MC12 with the money. And may be planning to for all I know.

    I don’t know man.
Living in a major city...with 6 figure credentials...doing a 6 figure job ...for less than 6 figures...makes him pretty foolish to me.

Here it is almost 2 months later. That urge for a Tacoma never left but I wasn't looking that hard. I did end up buying the 2013 White FJ at the local dealer a few days after my post. So this morning over a cup of coffee I go to the local Toyota Dealer website because they had 26 different vehicles ship in on Thursday. I knew as soon as I saw the Barcelona Red 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro ... it was mine..... knew it without a doubt. Went down, test drove and bought it. Oh, that 4runner I bought in May I traded in August for a Mini Cooper S.

so welcome to the garage .....
