Thanks for your clear step by step instructions. It costed me $7.53 (tax included) for the soldering iron and about 10 minutes work. It is fixed for now.

did it to my friends double cab sport. at first it would fade on and off for a few seconds on and a few off, that happened for about a minute, then it just stopped. and the next day it worked fine so i guess it was just hot or something.

saved him a bunch when he goes to return the truck after the lease is up :D

77F heading N - all looks and sounds about right!

Most difficult part of this fix is:
The size of the 510's and my weak*ss eyes.
The size of the 510's and the fact they move around when heated up. I used a dental pick to hold them in place until they cooled off.

Thanks to the OP for another easy fix!

Took me about 15 minutes to do the job, only because I had to wait for my soldering iron to heat up. Works like a charm now. I now have $900 to spend on something else.

I didnt read this entire thread but I am wondering if mine needs this same fix done or something else.

I constantly use my temp console and just noticed yesterday that it had turned off. So I press the button and it turns back on, but it only stays on for exactly 10 seconds every time and then shuts off:p

Is this the same issue you all are having?
