    Hi Folks,

Noticed this while doing the Front Diff and Transmission Oil change this weekend.
Looks like grease coming from Driver side front boot.
Is the boot clip bad or something up with the boot?
I can see no other leaks from the boot, just where the axle shaft enters?

You can see that the Passenger side is like new.

Any worries here? I will wipe it off and see if more oozes out but thought
i would ask the experts here.

    Thanks in Advance.
    Paul

Your clamp is gone, clean ooze and replace clamp, worm style clamp will be fine.

I would also add a little more grease, before you add the new clamp

    Thanks Gents...

Somebody school me on how to use the Grease Needle?...
Remove clamp, slide the tip of needle between boot and axle, apply grease and re-clamp?
I don't see a zerk in there anywhere...is there some other fitting i'm not seeing to apply
    the grease?

Thanks again, i really appreciate the help.

You got fortunate that the boot isn't torn.

    Thanks for the follow-up guys.

Yes i am fortunate, glad i took a closer look under there, i don't wheel at all, and only some light 4x4 on some farm roads around...
so i think maybe the clamp never was tight enough?... just never noticed it until i was under it doing the diffs.
I'm going to wipe it off and see if i can tighten the clamp some and if not get the new clamp and re-grease the thing
and keep an eye on it...

btw, what is good for cleaning that gunk off?...like a goo gone thing, or a stronger de-greaser?

Wipe as much of it off with some rags as you can, then let the rest soak in degreaser. Should come off easily with a hose and more rags after that.
