You can still do it with the dash e-brakes too.

True but it's not that fun, not alot of leverage. Whole different feel.......

And just for you and 24-7 the trucking industry is using similar hill assist feature in the big rigs, both Freightliner and Volvo autos:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LpIUMOgrny8

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4UGPxnM6zCk

Now you and 24-7 go tell those truckers they don't know how to drive a M/T or auto along with your other stupid bull$hit comments!

The hill assist is fine. Some situations you might want to turn it off though. My wife's Impreza has it and it's fine. I personally don't need it/ want it but it is not the devil.

I wish. At least we can still convert to manual hubs and now have an easy 2Lo Mod.

The bj73 has a push button vacuum for 4hi..they were trying to be fancy and I hate it. The one pump no longer works so I have to switch the lines back and forth to put it in and out of 4-hi. They kept 4-lo and the pto winch with the lever which is much more reliable.

Oof. Not good, but at least it is easy.

I take the 4wd exercise stated in the manual seriously because I want to know if the system is working well and if any faults start to creep in. Still, we should have a stick given the amount of space available and the ease of it.

Well, I had to replace the clutch master again. This time I bought the revised master, clutch pedal, and hose, from the TSB. All is well again. Only time will tell how long the new metal master will last. Looking on the bright side, I'm getting pretty fast at removing and replacing the master cylinder. Lol

Hahaha...oh the resistance to any tech beyond what came on an 84-88 pickup. This is actually a great feature to have.

Both above posters acknowledge not having hill assist yet insinuate one can't drive a manual and the handbrake is a better option.

Like to know what they be smoking?

Sadly there is a contingent of those people on TW who feel they must comment on any "advanced" feature discussed (you know like FM radio), and say how "real" trucks don't need that.

I feel it probably is even worse here since this is the MT thread, so kind of self-selecting.

that was an advanced feature at one time Lol
my first Toyota pickup did not have the A/C so damn straight I sweated out 105 degree days in Kansas City and Wichita

just curious if you tried to use the clutch start cancel feature to get up that?
