I have seen AWD vehicles that were 2WD. The last one I saw, I don't think the people driving it put the G 35X badge on it.

    Edit

Last week I saw a Ram with an International Harvester decal below the door badging on both sides.

While I understand and wholeheartedly agree with the argument that "it's their truck, they can do with it as they please" I'm still fascinated and put off by this iteration of "modification".

....mainly that those emblems and decals aren't for aesthetics. The whole point of adding a "turbo" badge to a non-turbo car or a plethora of up-model stickers and badges to a lower model vehicle isn't to convince yourself that you've got a more expensive model - but to convince others. More to the point, to fool or impress others into thinking that you have something that you don't.

In that sense it's a bit more than self expression, its a form of deceit.

People post pics of their cars with red wheels. While that's polarizing, its also arguably a matter of taste and in that case I refrain from posting an opinion unless asked.

As for what the OP posted, those badges aren't a matter of taste, they're a matter of delusion - maybe self, but more likely an attempt to delude others.

GTO badges on Pontiac Tempests, GT-350 and GT-500 stripes on notchback Mustangs, fake Rubicon decals on absolute base model four-cylinder TJ's.

Now it's poorly made TRD decals on the SR models that Orkin didn't add to their fleet. People have been and continue to be blowhard douchebags for decades.

Biologically it's an sr5 but it identifies as other variants. If that offends you then you need to leave. Parades on saturday

This is the decal he is talking about and correct, it is marketed for pro owners, you can tell because it says pro. Yes you could purchase it, because you have money. Just because you can buy or do something, doesn’t mean you should.

I'm seeing the same false equivalency perpetuated on this thread - namely that if you buy a pro grill or pro wheels, it's equivalent to adding a Pro emblem to your door.

    It's not.

Liking the aesthetics of the Pro grill or the Pro wheels in favor of the butt ugly stock examples is nowhere near the same as plastering your vehicle with Pro emblems and stickers in an effort to fool people into thinking you have a Pro.

    It’s an SR5.
Bingo! We finally have a winner. I was driving past Daly City which is referred to as Little Manila because of the abundance of Filipino population.

I mean I like the TSS too but not sure I’d make a bed decal for it, might do a crawl control edition one though. :D
