my damage report - after i had the big stick wedge up between my t-case and t-case skid and break off on trail 49 on the way back to camp saturday night i couldn't get my truck out of 4wd. as you saw the wiring harness had been unclipped. i wasnt sure if the problem was that the harness was not snapped in fully or if it was the actuator cause there was a healthy scrape on the side. i couldn't get it working and when i aired up at the general store cause the plastic was too f-ed up up to clip in easily so i drove to the Tims in North Bay and pulled up on a curb and got under it to fight with it.

finally got it to snap which seemed to solve the issue but i was pretty close to texting you to tell you i needed some space in your driveway to take my t-case actuator off. didn't wanna drive 600kms home on high speed pavement in 4wd.

You need a proper skid, that stick would have bounced off mine.

 

I have a nice dent in the middle of my front BudBuilt skid, directly in line with paint scrapes on the rear diff housing, from that concealed rock coming down the offshoot on 93. Other than that, just pinstripes, and 10 lbs of dried mud scooped from the top of my skids.

 

mine is an RCI. you have no gaps on either side? the transfer case is completely covered?

 

Its hard to even see my transfer case, let alone touch it.

This is the one I have, but I had it modified flat. I removed the 2" kicked out for the exhaust when I had it re-routed.

 

well i guess my t-case is well protected from below but not an attack directly from the side. probably pretty rare but not rare enough apparently...

 

Sticks scare me more than rocks. The rocks you can see almost 100% of the time.

Sticks are hiding everywhere and want to attack all the vulnerable places under the truck.

 

well maybe i will get some t-case side protection installed before the next VMUTS run... i will do it while i am waiting for the whole truck Raptor Liner spray to dry...
